Benjamin Alves pays homage to his late father Ebet Sapida, 65, through an emotional tribute on Instagram last Saturday, October 13.
Ben shared his fondest memories of his dad and wrote, "My dad did not have a weak heart.
"Of all the words I can describe my dad: humble, gentle, kind, sincere, patient, joyful, selfless - none of which a man with a lesser heart could be.
"He never asked for a better seat at the table, never wanted a higher position; he never had any other agenda but to serve wholeheartedly.
"And though my heart breaks for the sudden loss of my dad, I know that Daddy would tell me to have faith - to trust that God’s timing is perfect - and to take comfort in Him."
Although Ben didn't directly mention it, his father's death may have been caused by heart complications.
His post continued, "My dad’s heart is not the reason why he left us, it is the reason why he will always be remembered.
"Rest in peace Daddy. I love you. June 26, 1953 - October 9, 2018"
Aside from the message, Benjamin deleted all his other posts on Instagram and kept only six photos and videos, all of which featured his dad.
Losing his father seemed to have deeply affected him.
The GMA-7 actor immediately flew to Guam after his dad's unexpected passing on Monday, October 8.
Ben also tagged his dad's final resting place at the Guam Windward Memorial.
The PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) staff extend their sincerest condolences to Ben and his family.
