Melissa Ricks is the new Valentina in Wansapanataym

This Saturday, November 13, Melissa Ricks gives life to a legendary character, Valentina, in ABS-CBN's Wansapanataym.


Even though she will have a head full of snakes, Melissa considers her role as Valentina a dream come true. "Kilalang karakter na po kasi si Valentina. Marami na rin ang nag-portray sa character na yun. Ngayong binigyan ako ng chance to give life to such a popular character, dream come true po talaga."


The actress will be paired with Alex Castro, a commercial model-politician turned actor. This will be their first team up. "Noong umpisa nahihiya pa ko talaga, pero mabilis ko naman nakagaanan ng loob si Melissa kaya naging maayos ang working relationship namin. Mabait siya," said Alex.


Valentina is a woman born with snakes as her hair. This was due to the curse given by a woman named Anna, who turns out to be the mother of the man she will fall in love with.


According to Kantar Media's national ratings result last Saturday, the ABS-CBN fantaserye registered a rating of 26%. This allowed it to beat its rival programs Kaya ng Powers and Jejemom, which garnered scores of 13.9% and 14.4% respectively.
