Hit American TV musical series Glee connected with their Filipino audience the moment the show
debuted in 2009.
With music being the heart of the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning
show, Filipinos easily became Glee-crazed
just like the rest of the world.
Fans regularly followed the travails of glee club members of the
fictional William McKinley High School of Lima, Ohio. The show stars Hollywood's
Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Jane Lynch, Matthew Morrison, Dianne Argon, Chris
Colfer, Mark Salling, Heather Morris, Naya Rivera, Darren Criss, and Jayma
Mays.
Now airing their fourth season in the country, Glee introduces a new set of characters to replace the ones that "graduated from high school" and moved on to pursue their passions. Entering the roster of talents of The New Directions, the name of their glee club, are Jacob Artist, Melissa Benoist, Dean Geyer, and Becca Tobin.
Through a special invite to the Philippines care of the international soda company Coca-Cola, the four actors were in Manila to unveil the red "Mystery Crates" spread in the Market! Market!, Glorietta, and Trinoma malls last Saturday, June 8.
A press conference was held on June 7, at the Manila Peninsula Hotel in Makati where Jacob, Melissa, Dean, and Becca met with members of the Filipino media. The four chatted with the press about what they look forward to doing in Manila and their favorite Glee moments.
