Marian Rivera had her first taping day for GMA-7's upcoming epic-serye titled Amaya. The lead actress was interviewed by Audrey Carampel in Subic, Zambales for the March 14 episode of 24 Oras.
"Happy kasi pinakahihintay ko itong araw na ito na makapag-simula ng Amaya," said Marian. "Tatlo ang gagawin ko dito. Ako ang prinsesa na ang tawag ay binukot at nilagay lang sa isang kubo at hindi pwedeng lumabas. Hindi pwedeng madumihan ang paa. Hanggang sa magiging alipin ako dito, hanggang sa maging warrior ako. Doon na magsisimula ang kwento ni Amaya."
For her first taping day, Marian had the chance to shoot scenes with Gardo Versoza who plays a villain named Rajah Mangubat.
Director Mac Alejandre said they tapped experts so they could accurately portray the lives of our ancestors during the pre-Hispanic period.
"Kailangan as close kami or as accurate sa kung ano ang sinasabi ng kasaysayan. At higit pa doon, we want to get the details correctly. Guided kami ng mga historians from the University of the Philippines every step of the way," he said.
In line with the show's goal of being accurate to historical details, the girlfriend of Dingdong Dantes will have to go topless when she shoots some scenes for Amaya.
"Gusto ko mang sabihin na sanay ako [since] nag-Dyesebel ako... siguro naiilang din pero wala, e. Ito 'yong konsepto. Ito si Amaya. Tinanggap ko ito nang buong puso, kaya gagawin ko talaga lahat at 100 percent [ang] ibibigay ko dito," she said.
In a March 10 interview, Sid Lucero revealed how he was preparing himself to work with the GMA-7 actress for the first time.
"I talked to my brother Gabby [Eigenmann] right away kasi I know he's really good friends with Dingdong [Dantes, Marian's boyfriend]. Siyempre hindi ko masyadong kilala si Marian. I did my homework. I asked things about her that would probably.... [na] makakatulong sa trabaho namin. Para ma-skip na yung 'getting-to-know you' and breaking the physical boundaries [part].
"I'm really excited... to be given the chance to work with her," said the actor who was last seen on GMA-7's telefantasya Etheria.
