Is Andrea del Rosario willing to shoot sexy films again?

Aminado si Andrea del Rosario na nami-miss niya ang pag-arte sa harap ng camera. Kaya naman natutuwa siya na mas nagiging active na ulit siya sa showbiz ngayon.

Pero malinaw sa isip ng aktres na ang kanyang pagiging ina sa three year old daughter niyang si Beatrice Anne, higit sa lahat, ang kanyang priority sa buhay.

“I’m doing an indie film, now. And then I did a few… way back… but ang last soap ko was with TV5, iyong Misibis Bay and Kidlat. And since then siyempre medyo nag-focus ako rito sa fire belly dancing.

“So, I’m doing a lot of PAGCOR shows, a lot of out of town shows,” esplika niya sa PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) nang maka-usap namin siya matapos ang rehearsal nila ni Regine Tolentino sa dance studio ng huli sa Valencia St. corner N. Domingo St. Valencia Hills Condo Commercial Complex, Quezon City, para sa gagawin nilang show.

“Siyempre nami-miss ko, but you know as an artist, I guess you just cannot rely on just one… and this is also part of my passion, dancing… belly dancing. And I found it again, I picked it up and I’m happy doing it.

“So, I’m happy, but let’s say na mayroong project sa TV, fine, well and good. If none, I have this,” dagdag pa ni Andrea.

Anong indie movie ang ginagawa mo?

“Ngayon, may ginagawa kami about the typhoon Yolanda story. Hindi pa ano iyong title, e, but it’s about the person who went through that Yolanda tragedy.”

Sino ang mga kasama mo rito?

“Hindi ko pa alam, nakaka-isang shooting pa lang kami e,” matipid na sagot pa niya.

So, okay ka nang maging active ulit sa showbiz?

“I am okay with it as long as hindi naman over that I don’t have the time for my kid. She’s growing-up and siyempre my priority is still being a mom. Especially with what she went through, you know, with her medical condition before and all. Parang for me, I think that’s my calling, on top of everything else.

“So, I don’t know the percentage, but definitely, motherhood is still a big chunk of my priorities,” pahayag pa ng dating member ng Viva Hot babe.

Si Beatrice Anne ay ipinanganak na may congenital condition na tinatawag na Jejunal Atresia. Pagkapanganak pa lang ni Bea (nickname ng anak ni Andrea) ay inoperahan na siya agad para maiayos ang komplikasyon sa kanyang small intestine. Dumaan sa apat pang operasyon ang munting anghel ni Andrea at nang bumuti ang kalagayan nito, after one year ay nilagyan naman ng G-tube sa kanyang tiyan dahil sa pagkakaroon nito ng “short gut” syndrome.

Kamusta na ngayon ang health ni Bea?

“She’s fine, she’s fine. But siyempre, she is small, she’s not as… according to the pedia, iyong height niya is not as normal as you know, kids her age. But it’s okay ‘cause she’s a girl.”

Nasabi rin ni Andrea na dahil sa pinagdaanang ito ng kanyang baby, napagtanto niya na mayroon siyang espesyal na misyon sa buhay. At sobrang kaligayahan at inspirasyon daw ang hatid sa kanya ng anak.

“Words could not express, I guess it's the same cliche you hear from other moms… But it's different and cannot express the bonding between us, after going thru miscarriage before her, her four surgeries and her staying for ten months in the hospital.

“Going thru this with my daughter made me a very strong woman and at least, I discovered this very ‘special mission’ in my life, which is to help her survive… and that's the highest fulfillment and happiness…”



UPCOMING FEMME FATALE SHOW. Naibalita rin niya ang niluluto nilang show ni Regine Tolentino.

“Basically, matagal na namin itong parang project ni Regine. It’s our isa sa mga collaboration and should we say that it’s parang mala-reunion kind of show. Although we do shows together na naman, but it’s more like you know, with all these big casinos coming up and international companies coming up, we wanna come up with a show na medyo step-up, you know, level up.”

Kayo lang ba ni Regine o mayroon pang ibang kasamang celebrity?

“Kami lang dalawa cause she’s into Latin [dance], I’m into like some into fire and belly dancing. We’re doing shows for PAGCOR. Ayun, parang medyo join forces kaming dalawa.

“Ang title ay Femme Fatale. It means mysterious, dangerous, sensual, and sexy women that could lead to death, hahaha! That could kill…”

So, may mga hot number kayo rito ni Regine?

“Yes, yes, definitely. Kumbaga kung maiko-compare sa mga international artists, ‘di ba there’s Rihanna-Shakira and there’s Rihanna-Britney. So, parang ganoon lang ‘yung ginagawa naming dalawa.

“We’re showcasing each individuality and talents. And then parang it’s really just two shows and we’re putting it in one big show.”

So, papatunayan nyo rito na may asim pa kayo?
“Hindi lang papatunayan, mayroong asim pa talaga!” nakatawang sagot ni Andrea.

“Hindi na namin kailangang patunayan, ‘di ba? I mean, hindi namin sinasabi na, ‘O mga bata pa kami ha! O, we’re gonna dance.’ I mean, I think thru time, we’re just saying that we’re all woman now and we have this talent, skills… and we just want to celebrate that, you know, like where we are now.

“That’s just basically it, we’re just sharing our talent right now.”

Idinagdag pa ni Andrea na ang pangarap nilang maging show ni Regine ay sexy na tipong mild version ng Peepshow sa Las Vegas.

“Alam mo ang dream namin ni Regine ay talagang parang Las Vegas style, you know. I saw the show Peepshow ni Holly Madison ng Playboy, pero mas daring, super daring ang sa kanila and a lot of props ang sa kanila.
“Of course, we cannot afford that yet. So, we’re just working on costumes… you know, stuff like that, that’s our dream.

“So ang mapapanood naman sa amin, talagang sexy, sensual, sexy-beautiful women dancing, doing a show,” paglalarawan pa ni Andrea sa binubuo nilang show.

Dahil binansagan siyang Fire Belly Dancing Queen, maglalaro ka ba ng apoy dito?

“Mayroon, may mga kaunting ... I don’t know if we could use fire or candles, stuff like that. But if we can, then siguro yung mga LED lights.

“Now that we’re mature, we are hot mommas, hot mommas ang peg namin,” nakatawang saad ni Andrea patungkol sa kanilang dalawa ni Regine.


WILLING TO POSE FOR FHM. Speaking of hot momma, game ka ba ulit mag-pose sa FHM?

Nakangiting paliwanag niya: “Oo naman. Habang iniimbitahan. I have nothing against, you know, showing your sensuality and proud dapat, ‘di ba? Habang puwede pa, ‘di ba?”

Ayon pa kay Andrea, nakakatulong sa kanya ngayon ang pagiging physically fit at health buff niya sa mga show na tulad ng gagawin nila ni Regine.

“Yeah, nakatulong sa akin ang pagiging physically fit.

“I’m into rowing at member ako ng Manila Dragons. Pero bago lang ako roon kasi last year, I was with Boracay Bombshells.

“So, we wake up at 4:30 in the morning, two times a week. And then on Saturdays, it’s 5:30.”

Bakit ka napasali sa ganitong sport?

“You know, it’s something that I tried and you know, yung sports na pang-team, I like it. Because hindi … you cannot just give up. Because, you just have to, like, to keep up with everybody. So, I love the teamwork.

“Pero iyong solo workout ko, I mean, I do my belly dance rehearsals and I have a trainer.”

Kailan ka mas naging conscious sa healthy lifestyle?

“After I became a mom, nag-start na akong maging ganito. After the time I came back from the States, nag-gain ako ng weight, nag-start na ako because I was so fat and ito yung parang naging outlet ko, ‘yung belly dancing when I came back.”

Sino sa mga young actress natin ngayon ang tingin mo ay may kakaibang kaseksihan or hot talaga?

“O God, ang dami! I mean, I have like girl crush… yung Sam Pinto, she has pretty face.

“Sexy…? You know, iba-iba naman ang category ng sexiness.

“I like women that are you know, mas matured. Like sila Eula [Valdez] and now si Dawn Zulueta. For me, kasi ang maturity helps dun sa pagka-sexy ng isang tao e. Ang sexiness kasi sa akin ay ‘yung totality e, hindi lang ‘yung nakikita natin sa pictures o physical e.

“Kasi iyong iba ‘di ba kapag nagsalita na tapos at wa [wala], ‘di ba parang minus points na, e. So, importante rin na may laman ang ulo e and ‘yung total package,” nakangiting wika pa ni Andrea.


AVOIDING BEING TYPECAST. Si Aya Medel ay isa nang successful chef at magbubukas ng restaurant sa Bicol. Masasabi mo bang isa itong proof na ang mga sexy star ay hindi lang hanggang pa-sexy ang kayang gawin?

“Yes, people just typecast you and somehow brand you and I think that’s being shortsighted. Just because you come out as such and you were daring when you’re younger… When were younger naman ay talagang mas daring tayo, ‘di ba?

“So, why judge people just because of that?
“Time and time again, people proved na hindi porke nagpa-sexy ka before, that’s it, that’s you… That shouldn’t define who you are,” esplika pa ng aktres na kinilala ang galing sa mga pelikulang Lupe at Rome and Juliet.

Dagdag pa niya, “Ako, nag-master in Entrepreneurship ako sa Ateneo after that. I did business also, this and that…

“So, stage-stage lang iyan e. Nagkaroon ako ng stage na daring woman ako noon, that I was very comfortable with my sensuality and sexuality. Viva Hot babe stage, serious actress stage… got nominated…

“Some people kasi, they haven’t moved on that I was nagpapa-sexy before. But obviously, I have moved on from that.”

So, masaya ka sa mga katulad ni Aya na nagpa-sexy noon peo hindi lang doon huminto ang mundo nila?

“Yes, of course. ‘Yun lang ang sa akin, ‘di ba? Hindi dapat i-typecast ang mga artista natin, e.”

Pero kung may offer na magpa-sexy ka ulit, like sa mga indie project, tatanggapin mo ba?

“Uso pa ba iyon?” Nakangiting sagot-tanong ni Andrea.

“At the end of the day, ang itatanong mo ay bagay pa ba sa akin? Kasi siyempre, Mommy na ako and siyempre I have all these considerations, my daughter… and nag-move on na ako. I don’t think I need to… Iyong heart ko ay wala na roon, e.”

Kamusta naman ang lovelife mo?

“I have a lot of love, from my daughter…” nakangiting saad niya.

“Special someone? Wa na yun, hindi naman masyadong interesting ang lovelife ko e. Bottom line is, my status is, I'm single.”
