After almost a decade, KC Montero will once again work as an actor in Kubot, the sequel of the comedy-action-horror film The Aswang Chronicles.
KC rarely does acting since he is best known as a TV and radio host.
But he did not hesitate to be part of the Erik Matti film because KC said the role offered to him fits his personality.
“When they presented the offer, ‘KC, may movie ka na.’ Sabi ko, ‘Ano?’ ‘May movie ka na.’ And they told me the role. I can not say yes,” said the DJ in an interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other invited media at the launch of All Phone’s 50 held at Robinsons Galleria yesterday, April 3.
He also pointed out, “I’ve been offered movies before but parang hindi naman bagay sa akin.
“Actually, movies in general is not bagay sa akin.
“But this one, it’s a fun role and with my friends, Belle [Isabelle Daza] and Dingdong [Dantes].
“Plus, I’m working with the legendary Erik Matti, how do you turn that down?”
He was more even more convinced to be part of the movie after reading the script.
KC related, “After I read it, it’s not drama for me.
“I don’t have to cry. I’m not really a sad person so it’s hard for me to get into that emotion.
“So, tama ‘yong role sa akin.”
KC considers it "weird" to get an offer to act again since he says, “I haven’t done a movie. I’ve done a movie like 10 years ago, ‘yon lang.”
However, KC assured, “I’m taking [this] seriously because I haven’t done a movie in a long time and it’s a big role.
“I’m happy to be working with Direk Erik Matti. He said, ‘KC, we’ll just play on the set. Let’s have a good time.’
“They know my capabilities and what I can do.”
