FAP reveals jurors who will choose the Philippines' Best Foreign Language Film entry

Robert Arevalo, Laurice Guillen, Jun Urbano, and Gina Alajar are some of the committee members who will select the country's entry to the 87th Academy

The Film Academy of the Philippines (FAP) announced the members of the special committe tasked with selecting the country's official entry to the 87th Academy Awards's Best Foreign Language Film category. Among the contenders for the FAP shortlist are: Dementia, Barber's Tales (Mga Kuwentong Barbero), Norte Hangganan ng Kasaysayan and Mula sa Kung Ano Ang Noon.

Nai-announce na ng Film Academy of the Philippines (FAP) ang seven-member special committee na binuo para sa pagpili kung anong pelikula ang ipapadala bilang official Philippine entry para sa Best Foreign Language Film category ng 87th Academy Awards or the Oscars.

Ang special committee ay binubuo nina: film and TV actor Robert Arevalo; actress-director Laurice Guillen; actor-director Jun Urbano; film director William Mayo; director-writer Joe Carreon; actress-director Gina Alajar; at film editor Jess Navarro.

Bubuo muna ang special committee ng shortlist mula sa mga local films na pinalabas mula October 1, 2013 hanggang September 30, 2014.

Mga pelikulang naipalabas within that time frame ang eligible to qualify para sa naturang shortlist.

Ang dalawang pelikula na posibleng pumasok sa shortlist ay ang pelikula ni Lav Diaz na Norte, Hangganan ng Kasaysayan at Barber’s Tales (Mga Kuwentong Barbero) ni Jun Lana.

May September playdates naman ang dalawang pelikula na puwedeng ring pumasok sa shortlist. Ito ay ang Dementia ni Perci Intalan at Mula sa Kung Ano Ang Noon ni Lav Diaz.
