"...sa showbiz, lahat talaga pagdadaanan mo, and you will go though all kinds of roles."
This is just one of Max Collins's realizations now that she's playing the lead role in Kailan Ba Tama Ang Mali?, where Empress Schuck is her kontrabida.
Back in 2010, it was the other way around in Rosalka, where Empress was the bida.
At the recent shoot of her PEPtalk episode, Max said about Empress, “Actually, ako yung kontrabida niya sa show niya dati sa Rosalka.
"Sa Rosalka and nagkasama rin kami sa Abt Ur Luv and mga ibang bagets na shows.
"You will go through roles na bida ka, roles na supporting ka, roles where kontrabida ka, and hindi talaga maiwasan na maghanap ka ng different characters.
"So I guess, I see that she’s doing something different from before.
“Kasi siya mismo nagsabi na this is her first time to do more of a kontrabida role, and it’s something new for her whereas for me, baliktad naman, kasi usually ako yung kontrabida or ako yung supporting.
"So ayun, I feel na you’ll really try all roles eventually.”
How's the soap so far?
"Happy naman ako sa show because paganda nang paganda yung story. True to life siya, hindi siya katulad ng most teleseryes where the twists and turns are minsan unbelievable. Yung sa show namin true to life and real life situations.”
"Masaya rin kasi konti lang naman kami sa set so nakakapag-bonding kami.
"And I like working with Geoff [Eigenmann] and Dion [Ignacio] and Empress."
How does she find her character, a married career woman, in her new series?
“Mahirap for me kasi first of all, wala akong asawa, never akong nagka-asawa.
"So just to imagine what it’s like to be a working wife, and then yung husband ko, wala akong time para sa kanya, masyado siyang seloso.
“Kailangan ko ding isipin yung pamilya ko kasi ako yung breadwinner.
"I understand that point kasi medyo similar kami in terms of ambition, kasi ambitious din ako.
"But ang hirap talaga magkaasawa, and I never knew that it would be that hard pala until I started the show…It’s not easy.”
At the age of 22, Max said she’s been learning a lot about love and marriage because of her role.
“I guess siguro dahil sa show na-realize kong, ‘Wait, kailangan ko talagang pag-isipan before you fall in love and get married.’
"It’s really a lifetime commitment talaga and it’s hard to let go of someone, asawa mo, hindi mo siyang puwedeng iwan kasi nagkakaproblema kayo.
"Kailangan talagang ayusin niyo yung mga problema niyo.”
