The late Wenn V. Deramas was definitely on top-of-mind when it comes to box-office film directors.

Direk Wenn, who passed away on Monday morning, February 29, due to cardiac arrest, broke box-office records year after year for his comedy films starring Ai-Ai delas Alas and Vice Ganda.

His most recent box-office hit, Beauty and the Bestie (which earned P526 million), was even hailed as the highest grossing Filipino film of all time.
