Sarah Geronimo and Gerald Anderson's latest romantic comedy has reportedly grossed P20 million when it opened in cinemas yesterday, November 30, 2011.
The box-office figure was revealed by Star Cinema Advertising and Promotions Manager Mico del Rosario earlier today, December 1. In his Twitter account, he posted this update:
"Happy December! And happy sasa-gege! We made P20M yesterday for #Won'tLastADayWithoutYou! Congrats! 2nd day today, nood na! :)"
He later added: "This is Sarah and Gerald's biggest opening to date!"
Eat Bulaga! host Joey de Leon was present during the movie's premiere night held last November 29 at SM Megamall. The comedian plays the father of Sarah's character.
Produced by Star Cinema and Viva Entertainment, Won't Last a Day Without You has been graded B by the Cinema Evaluation Board. It is currently being screened in cinemas.
Directed by first-time director Raz de la Torre, the movie is about a playboy named Andrew (Gerald Anderson) who is irritated to learn that his girlfriend Melissa (Megan Young) broke up with him because of "love advice" given by DJ Heidee (Sarah Geronimo).
Andrew blackmails DJ Heidee into helping him win back his girlfriend. In the process, he becomes close to the radio DJ who is jaded about love because of a past heartbreak.
Sarah and Gerald were first paired together in Catch Me...I'm in Love, a movie directed by Mae Cruz.
The movie grossed "almost P15 million" during its March 23 opening day, according to Star Cinema.
