A tearful Isabel Granada became the fourth person voted out after a tense Tribal Council in GMA-7's Survivor Philippines Celebrity Doubles Showdown.
The 35-year-old actress and TV personality was emotional and felt betrayed as she left the Tribal Council area. "I feel awful. I was doing this for my family, for my kids, and for a new life," she said.
Isabel, however, did not leave the game without a fight. For the first time this season, host Richard Gutierrez had to conduct a tie-breaker challenge between Isabel and fellow Bulan tribemate Gino dela Peña. In typical Survivor fashion, since fire represents life, Richard challenged Isabel and Gino to a fire making challenge after getting a 3-3 and 2-2 deadlock votes amongst tribe members.
Both castaways had a hard time starting their fire but in the end, it was Gino who won, much to the dismay of Isabel's alliances.
TRUST ISSUES. Despite the recent tribe reshuffle between Bulan & Tala, everyone was pretty much loyal to their original tribe members. Betong & Arthur Solinap felt out of place in the new Bulan tribe after Isabel's absence. They know that they three original Bulan boys--KC Montero, John Odulio and Gino--can easily pick them off one by one.
"Sila talaga mag-kaka-alyansa, ramdam na ramdam talaga namin na sa susunod na matalo, ang dali naming tanggalin. Dito sa Bulan, sila yung tatlong hari talaga dito, kami yung mga aliping saguiguilid kumbaga," observed Betong.
KC Montero already feels comfortable with his alliance with John and Gino. In fact, he was willing to throw out the next challenge if immunity was at stake. "I say, if it's a reward, we win. If it's immunity, we lose," said KC.
Over at the tribe Tala, the castaways were in a much lighter mood as they took the time to know each other better. Their fun afternoon was disrupted when Stef Prescott suddenly returned to camp, after receiving medical attention for being bitten by a Philippine cobra.
Maey admitted: "Ako personally nabagabag ako, kase sabi ko nga kay Chuckie na 'Okay, she made it,' gusto mo siyempre na nasa mabuting kalagayan si Stef, sa isang banda, gusto mo din na sana hindi na siya bumalik para lima na lang kami, at pwede naming ma-vote out, at ma-vote-out namin ng madalian si Mara. So nung andun na siya, 'Uh-oh, okay, tatlo versus tatlo. Tatlong Bulan, Tatlong Tala.' Kung mag-tribal council man, ano na ang mangyayari?"
The two tribes will again battle it out next week in a complicated reward challenge. Up for grabs? Bath essentials, a cup of coffee, and an immunity bracelet for one tribe member. Find out who will win the reward challenge and who will earn immunity.
Survivor Philippines Celebrity Doubles Showdown airs weeknights after Munting Heredera on GMA-7.
