TJ Trinidad is part of the play, The Normal Heart, which depicts the early rise of the HIV/AIDS crisis in New York City in the early 1980s.
During this period, thousands of homosexuals were dying of the disease since it was still unknown how HIV/AIDS was being spread. To combat this deadly epidemic, gay activist Ned Weeks (played by actor-director Bart Guingona) struggled to establish an advocacy group raising awareness about HIV/AIDS.
