WHO IS BOL BOL?

The 26-year-old Bol is the son of Sudanese-American basketball player Manute Bol, who played in the NBA from 1985 to 1995 and was widely regarded as one of the tallest players in league history at 7 feet 7 inches.

Like his father, Bol is a towering presence at 7 feet 3 inches, sharing with him the distinction of being among the tallest players to compete in the NBA.

Bol played for the Oregon Ducks in college, where he showed great promise and drew first-round NBA draft projections from analysts.

Back when he was playing in high school, the sports website Bleacher Report compared his game to NBA superstar Kevin Durant.

However, a season-ending foot injury cut short his college career and may have impacted his stock in the 2019 NBA Draft.

He was drafted in the second round, 44th overall, by the Miami Heat before being traded to the Denver Nuggets.

Bol was traded multiple times before landing with the Orlando Magic in 2022, and later joined the Phoenix Suns, where he played from 2023 to 2025.

Bol's NBA career-high is 26 points, which he recorded on November 16, 2022, while playing for the Orlando Magic against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

In that game, he also nabbed 12 rebounds and three blocks.

Despite his size and versatility, Bol’s NBA career never fully took off, as he struggled to stay with one team long enough to establish rhythm and consistency.

It was reported this month that Bol will be playing in the PBA after signing a contract with TNT.

The sports website SPIN.ph reported that Bol is expected to earn between $50,000 and $60,000 per month playing in the PBA, making it a lucrative stint for the former NBA player.

Bol's arrival in the PBA signals a new era, as he is the tallest import to ever play in the league.

The PBA recently changed its rules on import height limits, allowing teams to recruit foreign players as tall as 7-footers for the Commissioner's Cup.
