Gaganapin ang 70th edition ng Miss Universe pageant sa Eilat, Israel sa December 12, 2021 (December 13 sa Pilipinas).
Kilala ang Eilat bilang isang masiglang resort city dahil sa magaganda nitong beach, masasarap na pagkain, at night life.
Isa ito sa mga paboritong destinasyon ng European sun-seekers.
Mababa rin ang crime rate sa Eilat, at ligtas magliwaliw ang mga turista anumang oras.
Matagumpay ang Israel sa kanilang vaccination laban sa COVID-19, kaya inaprubahan ang pagdaraos ng Miss Universe pageant sa Eilat.
“Despite the challenges the COVID-19 pandemic placed in our path, we knew how to maintain the balance between health and the economy, to bring tourism back to Israel,” ayon kay Israeli Tourism Minister Yoel Razvozov.
Tampok sa Miss Universe 2021 pageant ang “state-of-the-art, bespoke arena” na ipinagawa pa ng Miss Universe Organization sa Portugal.
Ayon sa mga detalyeng inilabas ng organisasyon noong October 27, “The custom ‘Universe Arena,’ which was imported from Portugal, rises to a height of 16.5 meters and has the capacity to hold over 70 tons of equipment.
“The building is treated to accommodate television filming and contains a stage and approximately 5,000 seats.”
Inaasahan ng Israel na pagkatapos ng Miss Universe pageant ay muling sisigla ang kanilang turismo.
Ayon pa kay Razvozov, “We needed to create tourism anchors that will promote and present Israel to the world as a vaccination nation that invites tourists to visit.
“The Miss Universe pageant is without doubt an important and significant anchor of this plan.”
