"I’m very thankful that I was chosen to do this movie because I feel like we need more of this kind of films.
"When we released movies now, especially sa mainstream, I always read comments or I always hear comment na parang it’s all the same or parang siyang formula film.
"This movie, it went against all the formulas."
Patuloy ni Bela, "It’s a first time for me to do something like this with no love team.
"Siyempre, iba yung meron kang kaeksena na parang love story or meron kang ka-love team—you feel safe because may sumasalo."
"The film and concept of Mañanita was actually inspired by a true story.
"Personally, in 2016, I was watching the news and there’s a feature about these police cops in Davao area, and what they would do in this time and world of the so-called drug war.
"What they would do because they don’t agree to violence, they don’t want to kill the drug suspects."
"They wanted to give, I guess, due diligence; but what they would do is they would sing outside the house of these drug users or these drug dealers.
"It was very successful especially in Davao del Norte."
Because when they started singing to us, the songs touched our souls."
