Hindi itinanggi ng Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) na ikinagulat nila ang pagdagsa ng mga sasakyan sa EDSA nitong April 15, Miyerkoles.
"Nabigla po talaga kami sa pagdami ng mga sasakyan sa EDSA kahapon," sabi ni MMDA Spokesperson at Assistant Secretary Celine Pialago sa Cabinet Files kahapon, April 16.
"Kaya po nagtulungan ang MMDA at ang Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group sa pagsita sa mga motorista na lumalabag sa Enhanced Community Quarantine.
"Limampu ang average po ng natiketan at nakumpiskahan ng lisensya."
Ano ang dahilan ng biglang pagdami ng mga sasakyan at pagkakaroon ng traffic sa EDSA noong April 15?
Ayon kay Pialago, nagkamali ng akala ang mga tao sa paggamit ng quarantine pass.
"Nagkakaroon po ng maling akala sa paggamit ng kanilang quarantine passes.
"Dahil ang kanilang hawak na quarantine pass ay per city lamang o within their barangay.
"Hindi po ito maaaring gamitin sa national highway, not unless isa po tayo sa mga tinatawag na Authorized Persons Outside Their Residence."
