Si Dingdong ang sumagot sa tanong tungkol sa problema ng mahigit sa 800,000 local entertainment industry workers na apektado ng COVID-19 pandemic.
Biglaan ang shutdown ng production ng mga pelikula at television show mula nang ipatupad ang community quarantine noong Marso.
Kaya malaking suliranin ang means of income para sa umaasa sa suweldo mula sa mga proyektong napahinto.
"Yung industriya namin is really one of the baddest or worst hit na industriya.
"Kasi siyempre, yung nature ng trabaho namin inevitable yung aksyon, yung interaction," bungad ni Dingdong.
LIMITED HEADCOUNT ON THE SET
Binanggit ng Kapuso actor ang post-ECQ protocol kunsaan limitado lang ang puwedeng magtrabaho sa set ng isang pelikula o TV show.
"So just to give you an idea, on a normal shooting or taping day, we have around 150 to 200 hundred people on set.
"Pero with the new guidelines that DOH had released, ili-limit na nila ngayon to around 50 to a maximum of 70.
"So imagine the amount of people na mawawalan ng trabaho."
Siguradong mahihirapan daw ang karamihan sa mga kasamahan niya sa industriya.
"And the greatest challenge is, of course, how to find alternative jobs for these people.
"Hindi naman lahat kasi ng mawawalan ay yung nasa staff or crew. Siyempre, pati yung actors.
"Because if you're gonna scale down and use skeletal crew and the skeletal efficient work force...
"Like I said, nag-level yung playing field because yung vulnerability at yung danger is the same and equal to everyone, regardless of stature."
ALTERNATIVE PLATFORMS
Paliwanag pa ni Dingdong, mahalagang pag-isipan kung anu-anong online platform ang magagamit para kumita pa rin yung mga hindi makabalik-trabaho sa set.
"We really have to find ways kung papaano ma-deliver yung messages, kung papaano makapag-entertain.
"We have the online platforms like Netflix and iFlix.
"Although Netflix, hindi naman siya pagmamay-ari ng Pilipinas or ng local. iFlix is also regional."
Hindi naman daw nawawalan ng pag-asa si Dingdong.
"I hope that we can have more similar platforms para maipalabas yung television shows, even movies lalo na.
"'Coz imagine, pupunta ka ba sa sinehan nowadays knowing that there is a risk for you to get infected?
"So, in the age and this time where everyone is adapting and adjusting, I’m sure because it’s the creative industry, they will find creative solutions."
