"Wow, that’s a nice one!"
Ito ang reaksiyon ni Julia Barretto nang itanong ng Cabinet Files ang mga highlight sa kanyang professional and personal life sa 2021.
Sumagot si Julia na masayang-masaya siya dahil sa mga pelikulang ginawa niya at sa kasalukuyang estado ng kanyang personal na buhay.
“As an actress, just having done the two films that I did in November, and just now, recently, just a few days ago, I’m really really happy to have done those films.
“Bumalik talaga yung fire ko for making films and I’m so inspired and motivated again, like, that’s all I wanna do next year… keep making films," pahayag ni Julia nang ipakilala siya bilang first-ever celebrity ambassador ng Miracle White ngayong Biyernes ng hapon, December 17.
Ang tinutukoy na mga pelikula ni Julia ay ang Bahay Na Pula sa ilalim ng direksiyon ni Brillante Mendoza at ang Expensive Candy mula sa pamamahala ni Jason Paul Laxamana.
Patuloy ng aktres, “As a person, I really am in a good place in my life. I really am happy with the people that surround me and there’s just a lot of peace within me.
“Just a lot of calm and peace, and that’s something I’ve been praying for two years now.
"And this year, it’s just all about that and I couldn’t be more grateful,"
Bukod sa pagiging ambassador ng whitening product, itinuturing din ni Julia na isang milagro ang pagkakaroon niya ng online shop, ang The Juju Club.
“Siguro yung miracle is the Juju Club. It really is a blessing and it really was a miracle.
“I am very overwhelmed up to this day. We’ve only been a month old, but hanggang ngayon, para siyang panaginip. Para siyang dream.
“And I’m just glad that I’m able to relate to a lot of girls, and a lot of girls can relate to me and my love for these things.
"I really hope that it becomes part of everybody’s life, so that is a miracle."
JULIA AS A SEX WORKER
Natapos na ang shooting ni Julia para sa Expensive Candy, ang pinakamapangahas na pelikulang ginawa niya dahil isang sex worker ang kanyang karakter dito.
Ang Expensive Candy ang reunion project nila ni Laxamana, ang direktor ng 2019 movie na Between Maybes na naging instrumento para magkaroon sila ng relasyon sa tunay na buhay ng kanyang leading man na si Gerald Anderson.
“[I’m] so, so, so excited for everybody to see this. It’s nothing that I’ve ever done before.
“I’d like to believe it’s a coming-of-age film and perfect because it’s almost my birthday.
“I play Candy, she’s a sex worker, and Carlo Aquino plays a school teacher. He falls in love with her and that’s where the love story begins.
"It’s very exciting, I dunno if I can say much ‘coz I don’t wanna spoil much,” pagbabahagi ni Julia.
May mabilis at nakakatawang sagot naman si Julia nang tanungin tungkol sa rate (from 1 to 10) na ibibigay niya sa sarili bilang kikay na babae na masyadong maalaga sa balat at sa kanyang katawan.
“Kikay from 1 to 10? Ten na lang, yun din naman ang sasabihin ng bashers. Ten na! Maarte ako, e!” bulalas ni Julia.
