"Gusto ko lang na malaman nila na puro kasinungalingan ang mga paratang nila laban sa akin. Para bang ginagawa nila ako na kontrabida at walang kuwenta na ama,” ang pahayag ni Nonito Donaire Sr. sa PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) ngayong Sabado ng umaga, Pebrero 25, 2023.
Ito ang dagdag na paliwanag ng professional boxing trainer sa mga taong kinukuwestiyon ang paglalahad niya sa social media ng sama ng loob laban sa kanyang anak na si Nonito Donaire Jr. kahapon, Pebrero 24.
Nasaktan si Nonito Sr. at tinawag na "ungrateful son" si Nonito Jr., na itinakwil ang ama sa panayam niya sa isang British vlogger.
Nagalit si Nonito Jr. dahil pumayag itong maging trainer ng boxer na si Reymart Gaballo, na posibleng makatunggali niya sa ring.
Ang galit na sabi ng Pinoy boxer tungkol sa kanyang ama, “This is the last straw, and if he ever goes in the ring with me, that goes to show that he doesn’t give a f*ck about me, my mom, and my whole fucking family."
Dagdag na sabi ni Nonito Sr. nang nakapanayam ng PEP.ph ngayong umaga, "Noon kasi, tahimik lang ako pero ngayon, hindi ko na palalampasin ito dahil niru-ruin nila ang pagkatao ko at ang aking profession na boxing trainer.
Ikinuwento ni Nonito Sr. na nakalaban at tinalo ng kanyang anak sa World Boxing Council (WBC) Bantamweight Championship si Gaballo noong December 11, 2021.
Nilinaw rin niya sa mga boxing fans na tini-train niya si Gaballo hindi para kalabanin si Nonito Jr., na ang trainer ay ang asawang si Rachel Marcial Donaire.
"I just want to let everyone know that before I started training Reymart Gaballo, we are not preparing against Nonito Donaire Jr.
"At that time we started our team-up, Naoya Inoue was still the undisputed World Champion of Bantamweight division.
"And Nonito Donaire Jr. was talking of moving down to 115. After a week of training Naoya Inoue moved up to Super Bantamweight. We thought that we are going to fight [Paul] Butler for the WBO eliminator.
"When Powcast Sports ask me if any chance we fight Jr., I told him nothing is personal. I still have family to feed.
"Nonito Jr. is trained by his wife, not me. If Nonito Jr. needs me is only for cutman if his cutman Mike Bassel is not available.
"I don’t have no hurt feelings towards him or to Rachel, they have their own lives,” ang paliwanag ni Nonito Sr.
Nagpasyang putulin ang relasyon niya sa sariling anak nang makarating ang masasakit na salita ni Nonito Jr.
Kaya nitong February 24, maaanghang ang mga salitang binitawan niya sa kanyang social-media post:
“I can’t believe that you raised a kid and now that he has more money than his parents, are can afford to raised his voice toward his father who molded him of what he is right now.
"I was talking about Nonito Jr. The UNGRATEFUL SON. He was a jobless man until he became a world champion. For 24 years I feed him but when he became a world champion, he left me and not even telling me that he hired another trainer.
"Now that his career is slowing down, blamed me of what happened to him.
"When he was on top of his boxing career, not even single time that he invited me of his victory party, NEEEEVER.”
Sa kasalukuyan, naririto sa Pilipinas si Nonito Sr. dahil nag-eensayo sila ni Gaballo sa General Santos City para sa susunod na laban ng 26-year-old boxer.
