Kasalukuyang nagaganap sa Glorietta Cinema ang red-carpet premiere ng Replacing Chef Chico, ang kauna-unahang Netflix original Filipino series na pinagbibidahan nina Sam Milby, Alessandra de Rossi, at Piolo Pascual.
Dumating sa Pilipinas ang mga executive ng Netflix mula sa iba’t ibang bansa para suportahan ang paglulunsad sa Replacing Chef Chico na nangyari sa Rizal Ballroom ng Makati Shangri-La sa Makati City, ngayong Huwebes, Nobyembre 23, 2023.
Bago idinaos ang red-carpet premiere, nagkaroon muna ng media conference para sa tatlong bida ng eight-episode series at sa mga lumikha nito—ang mga direktor na sina Dan Villegas at Antoinette Jadaone.
Kasunod nito ang meet-and-greet sa activity center ng Glorietta 4.
Malaking karangalan para kay Alessandra na siya ang napili bilang bidang babae ng Replacing Chef Chico.
Kahit idinaan niya sa biro ang mga sagot, ramdam ang kanyang labis na kaligayahan.
“First time ko na magbida. Sabi ko, Netflix lang pala ang makaka-gets sa akin. I am so international… charot!
“And parang I found my home talaga and I hope the feeling is mutual, charot," pabiro pero may katotohanang reaksiyon ni Alessandra nang tanungin tungkol sa malaking oportunidad na ipinagkatiwala sa kanya.
Ipinagmamalaki rin ni Piolo ang partisipasyon niya sa Netflix original series na mapapanood simula bukas, Biyernes, Nobyembre 24, 2023.
Pahayag niya, “It’s a privilege to be part of this series and working with Direk Antoinette, Direk Dan, is such a breeze.
“I am just very proud to share the stage with these talented people.
“What’s nice about this series is contagious siya. It will let you really feel our culture, our dishes.
"And working with these actors and the brains behind it, masarap yung experience so I hope it will resonate with the audience when they watch it."
Pagsang-ayon ni Sam, “I am extremely excited for... yung mga kababayan and the rest of the world to watch Replacing Chef Chico.
"We’re making history, the first Netflix produced series in the Philippines. I am really excited.
“It’s a huge honor. Like I said, it’s history. It’s the first Filipino-produced Netflix series but on top of that, it’s something I am really super proud of.
“I mean, they wrote an amazing story, and that’s why I am so excited because we get to showcase not only yung Filipino cuisine, but there’s so much part in the story.”
Mapapanood sa Replacing Chef Chico ang paraan ng pagluluto sa masasarap at ipinagmamalaki na mga pagkaing Pilipino na inaasahang malaki ang maitutulong sa turismo ng ating bansa.
Sinabi ni Antoinette na matutunghayan sa bawat kabanata ng Netflix original series ang mga sikat na Pinoy dish.
“Yung Filipino food, lalong sumasarap kasi kinakain natin siya with the people we love, at yun ang lalabas in every episode of Replacing Chef Chico.
“We featured our Filipino cuisine [like] laing, adobo, kare-kare, pero in every episode, merong story. Kumbaga sa hapag-kainan, hindi ka lang audience pero kasama ka sa hapag-kainan ng mga guest sa restaurant.”
Sabi naman ni Dan, de-kalibre ang mga pagkaing Pilipino.
Aniya, “For me, ang Filipino food, world class talaga. Puwede nating ipagmayabang, puwede nating ipagmalaki ang Filipino cuisine.
"At it’s high time na ma-recognize siya, hindi lang dito sa ating bansa, pati sa labas.”
