Pinangunahan ni Senator Jinggoy Estrada ang pagpasa ng resolusyon na bigyang-pugay ang yumaong aktres na si Jaclyn Jose.

Ito ang Philippine Senate Resolution No. 942 (Expressing the Profound Sympathy and Sincere Condolences of the Senate of the Philippines on the Death of Highly-Acclaimed Filipino Actress Jaclyn Jose on 2 March 2024).

Nakasaad sa bahagi ng resolusyon na may petsang Marso 4, 2024:

“The Philippine Senate has, in several occasions, paid respects to remarkable Filipinos for their legacy and contribution to the country.

“Whereas, the veteran actress, born on October 21, 1963 in Angeles City, Pampanga, was celebrated for her moving performances on the big and small screen, leaving behind a remarkable imprint in the entertainment industry for her unique and world-class talent.

“Whereas, Jaclyn pulled off one of the proudest moments for the Philippines when she became the first and th only Filipino actress and the first Southeast Asian to win the highly coveted Best Actress award at the 69th Cannes Film Festival for her dramatic portrayal of a drug-dealing patriarch in the Brillante Mendoza film Ma’ Rosa in 2016.

"This remarkable Cannes' win paved the way for the filing of Senate Bill No. 1032 or the proposed World-Class Filmmakers' Incentives Act, which seeks to promote the production of world-class Filipino films by granting tax perks.”

Si Estrada ang may-akda ng Senate Bill No. 1032, na inihain niya sa Senado noong Agosto 4, 2022.

Ipinakilala niya ang naturang panukala bilang "An Act Promoting the Production of Outstanding and World Class Filipino Motion Pctures, Providing Incentives to Filmmakers and Actors Claiming Honors in International Film Competitions and For Other Purposes."

Hindi nakaligtaan ni Estrada na purihin ang husay sa pag-arte ni Jaclyn, na tinawag niyang “Queen of Under Acting.”
