Nagpasalamat si Film Development Council of The Philippines (FDCP) chair Jose Javier Reyes kay Alden dahil hindi ito nagdalawang-isip na tanggapin ang imbitasyon para maging host ng Parangal ng Sining.
"Bow na bow kami kay Alden. No problem, sabi ni Alden,” ang kuwento ni Reyes sa reaksyon ni Alden tungkol sa imbitasyon na natanggap nito sa importanteng okasyon ng FDCP.
Papuri pa ni Reyes sa 32-year-old actor: "I mean, that’s why I guess luck is on his side all the time because that takes care of him. Because he is one of the most selfless people we have in the industry.
"Ito ay isang tao na wala ni isang butil na kayabangan sa pagkatao and he will do everything to help people.
"We love you Alden."
"Old Filipino" ang tema ng pananamit sa Parangal ng Sining na tradisyon noon ng mga nangunguna na film companies, ang Sampaguita at LVN Pictures.
"Ang parangal na ito ay treasuring the past, navigating the present and preparing for the future," ang sabi ni Reyes.
"Sabi namin, itabi muna natin ang Filipiniana natin para sa darating na Philippine Film industry month.
"Ngayon naman, e, mag-black and white tayo because because without those studios, without yung mga tradisyon ng mga studio, without the Nida Blancas, without the Gloria Romeros, without the Susan Roceses of the past, there would be no Kathryn Bernardos, there will be no Enrique Gils, Marian Riveras.
"The past will always be the foundation of the present and will always determine the direction of the future."
Bibigyang-pugay ng FDCP sa Parangal ng Sining ang mga personalidad at organisasyon na malaki ang kontribusyon sa industriya ng pelikulang Pilipino gaya nina Gloria Romero at Boots Anson Roa-Rodrigo pati ang sumakabilang-buhay na aktres na si Jaclyn Jose.
Kasama rin ang screenwriters na sina Clodualdo del Mundo at Armando Bing Lao, film critic at educator Nicanor Tiongson, Society of Filipino Archivists, ABS-CBN Film Restoration at film curator Teddy Co.
