Si Nanette Inventor ang grand prize winner sa professional division ng 7th Metro Manila Popular Music Festival noong 1984 para sa kanyang interpretation ng kantang "Salamat Salamat Musika."
Ang talento ni Nanette sa pagkanta ang nagbigay sa kanya ng oportunidad para makapasok sa entertainment industry.

Ngayon ay nais ipaalala ni Nanette sa publiko na siya ay singer din.
Mas natatandaan kasi siya bilang comedienne na nagpasikat kay Doña Buding, ang nouveau riche social-climber character na nilikha ng writer at direktor na si Joey Reyes noong 1983.
Muling nagkaroon ng pagkakataon ang entertainment press na makausap nang personal si Nanette nang pumirma ito noon ng co-management contract sa Viva Artists Agency noong Martes, Hunyo 18, 2024.
Inihayag ni Nanette na may kinalaman sa karakter na pinasikat niya ang desisyon niyang magbakasyon dahil sa kagustuhang balikan ang pagkanta.
“Matagal akong nagbakasyon because after doing all the stand-up for Doña Buding for seven years of my life, ang nangyari, I wanted to veer away from being typecast, that’s the only thing I can do.
“I said, 'Don’t forget about my singing, that’s where I started.'”

NANETTE INVENTOR DID NOT TAKE A BREAK
Iginiit ni Nanette na hindi siya nagpahinga nang itigil niya ang pagbibigay-buhay sa katauhan ni Doña Buding.
“Hindi talaga ako namahinga because after doing that, I was doing also musicals for stage, and at the same time, napunta ako sa comedy, like sa mga sitcom.
“I was doing also variety shows with Dick and Carmi and then, Abangan Ang Mga Susunod Na Kabanata, which is a political satire.
“Ang daming pinuntahan sa TV and, at the same time, meron akong every once in a while na movie. Nagteleserye din ako lately.”

NANETTE INVENTOR ON ADAPTING TO SOCIAL MEDIA
“Lola” ang pabirong tawag ni Nanette sa sarili.
Sa lahat ng mga pumirma ng kontrata sa talent management agency ng Viva Entertainment, siya ang pinakamatanda.
Pero buo ang paniniwala niyang walang katapusan ang edukasyon nang mapag-usapan ang mga susunod na yugto sa kanyang showbiz career, tulad ng pagiging aktibo sa iba’t ibang mga social media platform.
“It has a lot to do with what they say about education, it never stops. The only way it will stop is when you’re six feet under the ground, but you still leave a legacy,” makahulugang pahayag ni Nanette.
“It does not stop so you get to learn everything, you learn new things. Age is just a number.
“Since they are also doing a lot of comedy, and comedy is something that we all need as our staple tool to survive life.
“So, naisip ko yon, and my background as a teacher, which is communication, it does a lot for media and, I guess, I can make use of that.
“You should not be afraid to try new ones because you learn a lot from them, not only learn a lot from them. Before you know it, you’re so used to it that you’re sharing it already,” sabi ni Nanette tungkol sa pagbubukas nito ng TikTok account.

Sino ang mga celebrity o social media influencers na kanyang hinahangaan?
Sagit ni Nanette, “Whether you like to believe it or not, I love Korean dramas. They give me so much education regarding the different culture of Korea and I can see the culture of the Filipinos. Asian, for that matter.
“And then, every once in a while, of course, I don’t forget Netflix and Prime Video, that’s when I go to Hollywood and then I go to U.S. and European dramas.
"I love everything.
"And for music, I love jazz.”
Ipinagdiriwang ni Nanette ngayong 2024 ang kanyang ika-41 anibersaryo bilang entertainer at, diumano, nakikita niya ang sariling magkakaroon ng bagong kanta para sa Viva Records.
“I can envision myself doing a recording for Viva because I don’t want people to forget about my singing because that’s where I started,” may pag-asang sabi ni Nanette.
