Pumirma ng kasunduan ang Viva Holdings, Inc. at ang Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) para sa proteksyon ng assets, products, at artists ng Viva sa E-commerce.
Ang Viva Holdings, Inc. ang kumakatawan sa tatlumpu’t pitong kumpanya ng Viva na may interes sa paggawa ng mga pelikula, television series, streaming and distribution, radio broadcast, music label and licensing, concerts, skin care and cosmetics distribution, restaurants, at marami pang iba.
Itinatag noong 1998 ang IPOPHL na isang ahensya ng gobyerno na namamahala at nangangalaga sa intellectual property rights sa Pilipinas.
Mahalaga ang partisipasyon ng IPOPHL sa pagpapaunlad ng ekonomiya ng bansa dahil tinitiyak ng nasabing ahensya ang epektibong pagpapatupad ng mga batas sa intellectual property.
Ang IPOPHL ang tumutugis sa mga illegal na nagbebenta ng mga produktong eksklusibong ipinamamahagi sa bansa ng mga awtorisadong kumpanya.
Samantalang ang IPOPHL E-commerce Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) ang nagsisilbing mabilis na solusyon para sa mga problema sa piracy at counterfeiting sa mga E-commerce platform katulad ng Lazada, Shopee at Zalora.
“This is great news for all creators and artists under the Viva fold,” pahayag ni Viva Entertainment Chairman at CEO na si Vic del Rosario Jr. tungkol sa Memorandum of Understanding na nilagdaan nila ng mga opisyal ng IPOPHL at mga miyembro ng Intellectual Property Rights Enforcement Office.
“Viva is the leading content provider in the country. It is only right that we provide all those involved with us the maximum protection of their intellectual property against piracy and counterfeiting.
“As a signatory to the IPO E-commerce Memorandum of Understanding, our directors, writers, songwriters, everybody creating content and products for Viva, now enjoy protection.
“Piracy and counterfeiting are major problems in the entertainment and other industries. These massively affect not only income, but also disrespects creators, inventors, and innovators.
