Umakyat na sa mahigit animnapu (60) ang bilang ng mga nasawi sa magnitude 6.9 earthquake na yumanig sa Northern Cebu at sa mga karatig-lalawigan nitong Martes, Setyembre 30, 2025.
Malalim na ang gabi nang maganap ang pagyanig noong Martes kaya nang magbubukang-liwayway ngayong Miyerkules, Oktubre 1, saka pa lamang natuklasan ang malaking pinsalang idinulot ng lindol.

Ang larawan ng isang amang nagdadalamhati sa pagpanaw ng kanyang anak na babae sa Bogo City, Cebu; ang mga nawasak na ari-arian at mga gusali dahil sa lindol ang ilan sa mga kalunos-lunos na eksenang nasaksihan ng buong mundo.
MISS ASIA PACIFIC INTERNATIONAL STATEMENT
Tiniyak ng Miss Asia Pacific International Organization, sa pamamagitan ng opisyal na pahayag, na ligtas ang 42 kandidata mula sa iba't ibang bansa na naranasan ang mapamuksang lindol habang nagaganap ang Gala Night ng patimpalak sa Radisson Blu Hotel, Cebu City.
Idaraos ang gabi ng koronasyon ng Miss Asia Pacific International 2025 sa Oktubre 8, 2025 sa Cebu Coliseum, pero wala pang abiso ang pamunuan kung may mga pagbabago na mangyayari dahil sa lindol na naganap.
Ito ang kabuuan ng official statement ng Miss Asia Pacific International Organization:
"Earlier today, Cebu experienced a 6.7 magnitude earthquake.
"We wish to assure everyone that all Miss Asia Pacific International candidates, along with the entire MAPI Organization team who were also present during the tremor, are safe and secure.
“The organization has taken immediate measures to ensure the well-being of our candidates and staff, and we remain committed to their continued safety and care.
“We extend our solidarity to the people of Cebu and to all those affected by this incident, and we offer our prayers for their safety, recovery, and resilience.”

Sa mga showbiz personality, si Edu Manzano ang isa sa unang nagpaabot ng pakikiramay sa ating mga kababayan na lubhang naapektuhan ng kalamidad.

“The earthquake that shook your community has left deep scars on your streets, your homes, and your hearts.

"And to every first responder, neighbor, volunteer together my family and friends stepping up ….. you are the light in this dark hour.
