DPWH, tiniyak na walang nasirang flood-control documents sa sunog

Sari-sari at malisyoso ang mga haka-haka ng publiko tungkol sa naganap na sunog.

Naglabas ng opisyal na pahayag ang pamunuan ng DPWH upang tiyaking walang dokumentong may kinalaman sa imbestigasyon sa anomalya sa flood control projects ang nadamay.

Nakasaad sa statement: "The DPWH confirms that no documents related to the ongoing investigation into the flood control anomalies were in the Bureau of Research and Standards (BRS) building that caught fire in Quezon City today.

"The DPWH BRS is responsible for the conduct of research, studies, pilot testing, and formulation of policies for government infrastructure projects.

"Initial findings indicate that the fire originated from a computer unit inside the Materials Testing Division that reportedly exploded.

"No employees were harmed during the incident.

"An investigation team to assess the fire incident has been deployed and is currently conducting a thorough assessment to determine the full extent of the damage and to prevent similar incidents in the future.

"Further updates will be provided once additional information becomes available."

ICI INVESTIGATION

Simula sa susunod na linggo, mapapanood na ng mamamayang Pilipino, sa pamamagitan ng public livestreams, ang imbestigasyon ng Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) tungkol sa mga anomalya sa flood control projects.

Ito ang inihayag ni ICI Chair Andres Reyes sa kanyang pagdalo sa pagdinig ng Senado sa Senate Bill No.1215 ngayong araw.

Ang Senate Bill No.1215 ang panukalang may layuning lumikha ng Independent People’s Commission na mag-iimbestiga sa mga anomalya sa infrastructure projects ng pamahalaan.

“Inspite of no rules allowing us, we will now go on livestream next week once we get to be able to have technical capability,” pahayag ni Reyes sa Senado.

Isa itong positibong balita para sa mga Pilipino na naiinip na dahil hindi pa napaparusahan ang mga sangkot na contractors at opisyal ng gobyerno na dapat managot sa malawak na korapsyon at pagnanakaw mula sa bilyun-bilyong pisong pondo na nakalaan para sa flood control projects.
