Tatlumpu’t dalawang (32) taon na ang nakalilipas buhat nang manalo si Ruffa Gutierrez na Second Princess sa 43rd Miss World na ginanap noong Nobyembre 1993 sa Sun City, South Africa.
Labing-siyam (19) na taon si Ruffa nang maging kinatawan siya ng Pilipinas sa 43rd Miss World.
Dalawampu’t dalawang (22) taon na ang edad ng panganay na anak ni Ruffa na si Lorin Gutierrez.
Sa mga nagtatanong kung nangangarap din ba si Lorin na maging beauty queen at sundan ang yapak ng kanyang ina, may sagot ang dalaga.
"I think every little girl dreams of being a beauty queen, or something similar, to a certain extent.
"I love fashion, beauty, and anything girly and the Leo in me makes it seem like it may be a good fit.
"However, I realized early on that there are many different career paths I can explore, which also allow me to express myself and my interests but in a setting more comfortable for me."
Tingin ni Lorin ay hindi niya linya ang beauty pageant.
Paliwanag niya: "My mom gave an iconic performance, and that was her journey, but it is not mine.
"She was far braver than I could ever be for taking that leap and I will forever admire her for it.
"I am a little more shy and somewhat self critical and don't feel drawn to pageantry."

LORIN GUTIERREZ ON MOM RUFFA'S UNIQUE QUALITY
Malaki ang paghanga ni Lorin sa kanyang ina dahil sa kabila ng pagiging single parent, naitataguyod daw ni Ruffa ang pag-aaral nila sa ibang bansa ng kapatid niya na si Venice.
"I always say that my mom lights up any room she walks into.
"As a single working mother who has sacrificed so much to give my sister and I a good life, there is so much I can say, from her resilience to her discipline.
"But, on a happier note, one of my favorite things about her is her infectious joy. It even comes through in her messages.
"She can text me something and put the cutest string of emojis. And no matter how far I am from her, I can hear the message in her voice.
"Despite all the darkness she has endured in life, she has this unwavering positivity which is extremely admirable."

NEARLY FINISHED WITH HER UNI LIFE
Sa ngayon, ang Advertising course sa Pepperdine University sa Los Angeles, California ang pinagtutuunan ni Lorin ng atensyon.
Kaya mga product endorsement lamang ang mga proyekto na kanyang tinatanggap dahil mas matagal nga ang pananatili niya sa Amerika.
Kamakailan lamang, ipinakilala si Lorin bilang celebrity ambassador ng sunscreen product ng Brilliant Skin Essentials.
Ang graduation day niya sa Pepperdine University sa 2026 ang pinakahihintay ni Lorin dahil sa dami ng kanyang mga nais na gawin.
"I graduate university in 2026, and I am extremely excited about that.
"I think making it across that stage and receiving my diploma would be the biggest goal I will meet in 2026.
"From there, the world is my oyster, as they say, and my goal is to be open minded and accepting of all the opportunities God sends my way. I'd like to step out of my comfort zone and say yes to everything.
"I am most thankful for continued blessings in 2025, from new endorsements, to my supportive audience, and all the moments in between spent with family and friends.”
