Patuloy na tumatanggap ng batikos si Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Cristina Aldeguer-Roque.
Simula noong nagpa-interview siya sa DZMM noong Huwebes, November 27, 2025, naging laman ng mga social-media feeds ang PHP500 budget niya para sa Noche Buena.

Hinamon nila si Roque na samahan silang pumunta sa supermarket at mamili ng mga sinasabi niyang ham at mga sangkap ng macaroni salad at spaghetti.
Pinaratangan din siyang hindi niya alam ang reyalidad tungkol sa pamumuhay ng mga mahihirap na Pilipino.
DTI Secretary Cristina Roque INSISTS PHP500 NOCHE BUENA CAN FEED A FAMILY OF FOUR
Sa press conference na ipinatawag niya noong Biyernes, Nobyembre 28, sinagot niya ang mga kritisismo.
Nanindigan si Roque: "Kasya ang PHP500, but it depends on the number of the family members.
"Kasi, usually, ang family members na kasya itong PHP500 is mom, dad, and two children.
"So ngayon, yung ibang family members naman po ay mother, and let's say, daughter or son or father and daughter or son or can be mother, father and one child, so yun po ang explanation ko sa PHP500.
"But again, the Noche Buena celebration or handa will depend on the number of family members or even the extended relatives that would be joining the Noche Buena celebration.”
Saka niya binasa ang price list ng DTI bilang patunay na may basehan ang kanyang pahayag na kasya ang PHP500 para sa Noche Buena.
"We got these prices from the price set by the DTI which is this Noche Buena price guide list.
"In fact, itong price guide list, nandito po ito sa social media ng DTI at saka sa website ng DTI and nakapaskil din po sa groceries and supermarkets.
"So, just to set the record straight, where we got the PHP500, is for a family of four meaning father, mother, basta apat sila sa pamilya.
"Meron na po itong Christmas ham na PHP170.
"And then yung spaghetti, which is the spaghetti noodles and spaghetti sauce, so the noodles is PHP30 and PHP48.50 for the sauce so a total of PHP78.50 for the spaghetti.
"For the macaroni salad, we have the macaroni noodles, PHP40.95, the mayonnaise is PHP55.00 and the cheese is PHP56.50, so a total of P152.00,” ang bahagi ng justification ni Roque.
Pero imbes na makumbinsi ang mga Pilipino, lalong nadagdagan ang mga batikos laban sa kanya.
Tanong ng karamihan, saang supermarket o grocery daw hinugot ang price list?
WHAT INGREDIENTS CAN BE BOUGHT WITH PHP500?
Nag-check ang PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) ng presyo ng mga sangkap na binanggit ni Roque sa isang malaking supermarket chain.
In fairness, pasok naman sa PHP500.00.
Yun nga lang, baka isakripisyo ng ilan ang ham para makabili ng ground meat o hotdog for spaghetti.
Baka rin mag-ready-to-eat bibingka o leche flan na lang kesa macaroni salad na walang lasa kung kulangin ng cheese at mayonnaise.
Ang masaklap ay kung wala ang mga brands na pasok sa budget.
Kung magkagayon, sa ham pa lang, ang usual price ay nasa PHP350 na.
Pero pasok man o hindi ang PHP500-peso budget, hindi naman maitatatwa na maraming Pilipino ang magseselebra na napakapayak ng handa.
At kung gustuhin man nilang lagyan ng kumpletong sangkap ang macaroni salad at spaghetti, maituturing na luxury na ito para sa marami.
WHO IS CRISTINA ROQUE?
Samantala, bago itinalagang DTI secretary si Roque, siya ang CEO at presidente ng Kamiseta Group of Companies, na kinabibilangan ng Kamiseta Clothing at Kamiseta Skin Care.
