Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), chronic bronchitis, chronic sinusitis, at atopic dermatitis ang ilan sa mga karamdaman ni Pagsanjan, Laguna Mayor ER Ejercito.
Ayon ito mismo sa kanyang anak na si Pagsanjan Councilor John Paul "Jet" Ejercito.
Bukod sa mga nabanggit na sakit, naghahanda umano si ER para sa renal hernia surgery na isa sa dahilan ng kanyang “medical leave” bilang alkalde ng Pagsanjan.
Ito ay sa kabila ng kumpimasyon ng vice-mayor ni ER na si Jan Garcia na ito na ang bagong punong-bayan ng Pagsanjan.

Isiniwalat ni Councilor Jet ang mga karamdaman ng kanyang ama sa privilege speech niya sa Sangguniang Bayan session noong Martes, Disyembre 2, 2025.
Bahagi ng kanyang pahayag: “As we speak, Mayor ER is on indefinite leave. His physicians certified that he’s suffering from COPD, chronic bronchitis, chronic sinuses, atopic dermatitis and preparing for surgery related to renal hernia.”
COUNCILOR JET EJERCITO TAKES A SWIPE AT UNCLE SENATOR JINGGOY ESTRADA
Hindi rin pinalampas ni Jet ang pagkakataon para pasaringan ang tiyuhin niyang si Senator Jinggoy Estrada, pinsan ng kanyang ama.
Si ER ay anak ng yumaong aktor na si George Estregan, na kapatid ng ama ni Jinggoy na si former President Joseph Estrada.
Saad ng konsehal: “In previous sessions, statements were made by honorable councilors Vins Gonzales and Ronie Leron regarding the supposed bench warrant against my father.
“Terms like fugitive were irresponsibly used and today, I must set straight the record. Let me state this clearly for truth must prevail here.
“Mayor ER’s Supreme Court case is not a PDAF corruption case. It is not flood control corruption case.
"It is a politically motivated charge of command responsibility rooted in procedural mistake committed by the municipal council back in 2008, now being exploited and magnified by no less than my very own uncle, Senator Jinggoy Estrada."
Hindi man niya direktang tinukoy, ang "PDAF" at flood control corruption" ay mga isyung inuugnay sa senador.
Pagpaptuloy ni Councilor Jet: “These tactics bears a striking resemblance to the same pattern of political harassment my father experienced more than twelve years ago when he was unseated as Laguna governor in 2014 over a malicious and exaggerated call for spending allegations, a case aggressively pushed by then President Benigno Noynoy Aquino III but later dismissed by the Commission on Elections.
“History it seems is repeating itself yet despite all these, Mayor ER continues to face these challenges openly, never hiding, never evading and never abandoning his responsibilities to the people of Pagsanjan.
“On distortion of the police, it is deeply disheartening to hear these issues raised in this chamber as though my father was a criminal. The case does not involve plunder, corruption, personal gain or unlawful enrichment.
“It is an administrative matter, procedural in nature now politicized by those who seek to damage an elected official.”

Ang pahayag na ito ni Jet ay indikasyong may hidwaan sa kanilang pamilya.
Sa halalan noong Mayo 2025, ang kalaban ni ER sa pagka-mayor na si former Pagsanjan Mayor Cezar Areza ang sinuportahan ni Senator Jinggoy.
Pagpapatuloy ni Jet: “Mayor ER has already submitted complete explanation to this body and to the DILG. Due process had been observed, the law is working and the mayor is fully compliant.
“There is no justification for the irresponsible accusations, exaggerations or the public humiliation of an elected official who is currently facing legitimate medical challenges.
“His dream is simple, to rebuild Pagsanjan. To make it the best place to visit, to invest in and to live in.
“Mr. Presiding Officer, colleagues, this chamber deserves better than political theatrics as emphasized in the recent memorandum from the office of the mayor.
“We are duty bound to uphold the truth, order and respect. Public office should never be used to propagate half-truths or to escalate political noise.
“We can debate, we can disagree, we can challenge policies, but let us do so with dignity, facts, and respect.”
Naging madamdamin ang pagsasalita ni Jet nang banggitin nito ang pagpanaw ng kanyang ina, ang aktres at former Pagsanjan Mayor Girlie Maita Ejercito, noong Nobyembre 2024.
“On my personal appeal, I stand here today, also a son who has already lost his mother, our beloved Mayor Girlie Maita Ejercito, just last year due to severe illness.
“I know too well the pain of seeing a parent struggle and so I humbly ask for your prayers and your compassion for my father’s healing.
"Let us not weaponize his illness. Let us not exploit his temporary medical leave."

ARREST WARANT FOR ER EJERCITO
Nagsalita si Jet sa Sangguniang Bayan session para ipagtanggol ang kanyang ama sa gitna ng kontrobersiyang pinalitan ito ni Garcia dahil sa paglabag sa Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act noong 2008.
Naglabas ng Bench Warrant of Arrest (for Finality of Judgment/Service of Sentence) ang Fourth Division ng Sandiganbayan para kay ER noong Oktubre 21, 2025.
Tinawag ni ER na "fake news" ang balita na inilabas ng PEP noong Disyembre 2.
Sa kanyang komento sa official Facebook page ng PEP, iginiit ni ER na "acting mayor" lamang si Garcia habang nasa medical leave siya.
Pero walang paliwanag ang aktor sa sariling Facebook page niya tungkol sa kontrobersyal na isyu.
