BULACAN VICE MAYORS STRANDED IN DUBAI
Nakasaad dito: “The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) addresses the circulating reports claiming that several local officials, including vice mayors, travelled to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, without notifying or securing approval from the Department, and that they are allegedly 'stranded' due to the current emergency situation in the Middle East.
“The DILG categorically states that these reports are inaccurate and misleading. The Department has no official record confirming that any vice mayor or group of local officials from Bulacan or other provinces travelled to Dubai without proper documentation or coordination with the appropriate government agencies. Assertions that such travel occurred without the Department’s knowledge are unverified and speculative.
“It must be emphasized that all elective and appointive local government officials must obtain the necessary Foreign Travel Authority (FTA) and comply with established national policies and procedures for foreign travel. These protocols are in place to ensure transparency, accountability, and proper coordination among concerned government offices.
“DILG reiterates its commitment to upholding transparency and accountability in local governance and to safeguarding the welfare of local government officials and all Filipino citizens.”
