Hindi umano ugali at hindi nakasanayan ni Miss Universe Philippines CEO and President Jonas Gaffud na patulan o sumagot sa mga paratang sa kanya.
Sa halip, si Miss Universe Philippines Executive Vice President Voltaire Tayag ang nagpaliwanag tungkol sa viral video ni Jonas na kuha sa gabi ng koronasyon ng prestigious beauty pageant na ginanap sa Mall of Asia Arena, Pasay City, noong Mayo 2, 2026.
Sa kumakalat na video sa social media, tila hinampas ni Jonas ng cellphone ang lalaking nasa harapan nito dahil sa sobrang galit nang nagkaroon ng problema sa mikropono ni Ralph de Leo.

WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED, ACCORDING TO VOLTAIRE TAYAG
Sa panayam ni Vin Belinario ng News5, nilinaw ni Voltaire ang eksenang nasaksihan ng netizens.
Ani Voltaire: “He was very frustrated when the mics were not working. He was trying to call the production.
"So, nung hindi sumasagot... actually, walang signal.”
Nasaksihan daw ni Voltaiire ang buong pangyayari dahil magkatabi ang mga upuan nila ni Jonas.
Lahad niya: “It was very clear he did not make hampas to anyone. In fact, natawa nga ako.
"In my mind, 'Oh my gosh, baka nasira niya yung phone niya.'
"And seconds later, he looked at it. Later on, I was even joking at him, 'At least meron tayong sponsor na phone.”
Naiintindihan daw ni Voltaire ang pagkadismayag naramdaman ni Jonas.
“Look, he spent so much. We’ve been trying so hard to make this production perfect.
"And then malapit nang matapos, all of a sudden, magkakaroon nang ganoon.
“You know, you do something 98 percent correct, and then the two percent is what people would focus on.
“It’s unfortunate, but it’s just out of frustration. I think anybody in production would feel that way."
Pagtatanggol pa niya kay Jonas: “And it’s unfair for him to be judged by people. To be bashed for that one incident.
"Throughout all of this time, where are all the people talking about the good things that he’s done, the good things that he’s done for the pageant industry, for Miss Universe Philippines and the delegates?
“I hope people can do that and reconsider all of those things and take that into consideration.
"But just to be clear, he didn’t threw the phone at anyone."
Sa kabilang banda, marami ang nakaunawa sa inasal ni Jonas, na ang layunin ay mapaganda, maging maayos at pulido ang gabi ng koronasyon ng Miss Universe Philippines 2026.
Wala ring gaanong nagreklamo dahil hindi inabot ng madaling-araw ang grand coronation.
