Ang The Last Resort, ang romantic-comedy film ng Asia Pacific Films (MVP Group), ang isa sa mga huling proyekto ni Sam Neill,.

Pumanaw ang New Zealand actor sa edad na 78 noong Hulyo 13, 2026.

Ang Dead Calm, The Piano, The Hunt for Red October, at Jurassic Park ang ilan sa mga popular na pelikulang pinagbidahan ni Sam.

Namalagi siya sa Pilipinas noong 2025 para sa shooting ng The Last Resort na nakatakdang ipalabas sa mga sinehan sa 2027.

Ang Filipino international actress na si Tetchie Agbayani ang isa sa mga kasama ni Sam sa cast ng The Last Resort.

Ngayong Martes, Hulyo 14, isang mensahe ng pamamaalam sa multi-awarded actor ang ibinahagi niya sa social media.

Mensahe ni Tetchie: “Farewell Sam. May the Father grant you lasting peace in heaven. You are unforgettable."

Ibinahagi rin ni Tetchie ang larawan nila ni Sam na magkasama sila habang nasa shooting ng pelikula.

Kasama rin sa cast ng The Last Resort sina Tonton Gutierrez, Mylene Dizon, Dylan Menor, at ang Fil-Am entertainment personalities na sina Tia Carrere at Jo Koy.

“Magkasama kami sa eksena pero wala kaming dialogue,” sabi ni Tonton tungkol sa pagkakataong nakatrabaho niya si Sam.

SAM NEILL IN THE PHILIPPINES

Nang matapos ang shooting para sa kanilang proyekto, nagkaroon ng courtesy call kay Presidente Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ang mga artista at production staff ng The Last Resort noong Mayo 2025.

Nag-post noon si Sam sa Instagram tungkol sa pinahahalagahan niyang karanasan sa Pilipinas.

Aniya: “I was very pleased to meet the President at the palace in Manila last week.

"Thank you President Marcos, and thank you the People of the Philippines for your gentleness, kindness, generosity and unfailing hospitality. We had a great shoot.”

Kinunan ang mga eksena ng The Last Resort sa Cebu at Palawan.

Labis na hinangaan ng foreign cast at production staff ang kagandahan ng ating bansa kaya nakaramdam si Sam ng pangungulila nang umalis siya sa Pilipinas.

“Missing Manila!” ang isa sa mga huling social media post ni Sam noong Mayo 2025 tungkol sa bansa, na nagustuhan niya sa kanyang sandaling pananatili.

Nagbigay-pugay si Collins kay Sam sa pamamagitan ng kanyang social media post: “Rest in Peace Sam. I was blessed to be able to work with you in the Philippines and get to know you. We lost a really really good man today.”
