LAV DIAZ'S FILM WINS AT VENICE FILM FESTIVAL
Bukod sa mga papuring natatanggap ng 67-year-old film director dahil sa kanyang pagganap sa Call My Manager!, pinarangalan sa 83rd Venice Film Festival ang pelikula niyang Makikiraan Po, na may English title na Let Us Through, Dear Ancestors.
Ang Makikiraan Po ang tumanggap ng Premio Brian o Brian Award mula sa international film festival na nag-umpisa noong Setyembre 2, 2026 at nagwakas noong Sabado, Setyembre 12, 2026.
Kabilang ang mag-asawang Lovi Poe at Montgomery Blencowe sa producers ng Makikiraan Po, na pinangungunahan nina Ronnie Lazaro, Christian Bables, Bart Guingona, Yul Servo, at Rafa Siguion Reyna.

Ipinagkakaloob ang Premio Brian sa pelikulang nagpapakita ng respeto sa mga karapatang pantao at kalayaan ng konsensya.

Ang American actor na si John Malkovich ang nanalo ng Volpi Cup for Best Actor para sa pelikulang Wild Horse Nine.
Bahagi ng acceptance speech ni Malkovich: “I am humbled to be chosen for this award, which has been given to so many wonderful actors over the past 83 iterations of the Venice Film Festival.
“Thank you to the jury for bestowing this honor upon me, and thank you, Martin McDonagh, for writing this lovely screenplay and for your superb direction of it, and for gifting me with this fantastic role.
