Ang Japan ang host country ng 47th Miss Intercontinental, pero magaganap ang coronation night nito sa Mall of Asia Arena, Philippines sa January 26, 2019.

Pormal itong inanunsiyo ni Miss Intercontinental-Japan CEO Joanna Gimena Miyamae sa press launch ng 47th Miss Intercontinental, na ginanap ngayong araw, October 4, sa Conrad Manila Hotel, Pasay City.

Bilang isa sa pageant organizer, ipinaliwanag ni Kumi na hindi sila makahanap ng venue sa Tokyo, Japan, dahil ngayon pa lang ay pinaghahandaan na roon ang Olympic Games, na idiraos sa July 24, 2020 hanggang August 9, 2020.

"We did have a very difficult time finding a venue.

“The reason why there's a trouble with the venue is because in two years, the Olympic Games will be held in Tokyo and in Japan.

“They're very advanced and organized."

Kaya nagdesisyon daw silang gawin sa Pilipinas ang 47th Miss Intercontinental na nakatakdang ganapin sa 2019.  

Kasamang humarap sa press si Miss Intercontinental-Germany CEO Detlef Tursies, Miss Intercontinental 2017 Veronica Salas Vallejo at Miss Intercontinental-Japan 2017 Kumi Miyamae.

Naroon din sina Miss Intercontinental-Japan 2018 Akari Maeda at Bb. Pilipinas-Intercontinental 2018 Karen Gallman.

Ayon kay Detlef, 85 official candidates ng 47th Miss Intercontinental ang darating sa Pilipinas simula sa unang linggo ng January 2019.

At naniniwala raw siyang may good chance na manalo ang kandidata ng Pilipinas na si Karen.   

Siniguro naman ni Kumi na hindi magiging isyu ang napiling venue sa tsansa ni Karen na mauwi ang korona ng pageant.

"I just wanna clarify that the host country is still Miss Intercontinental-Japan.

“And we are staging it here, so actually, you have nothing to worry about," ang paglilinaw ni Kumi na may Filipino blood dahil Pilipina ang nanay niya.
