Hindi ipinagkaila ng multi-awarded actor na si Ricky Davao na lumitaw ang pagiging fan niya nang dumalo siya sa viewing at after-party ng 76th Golden Globe Awards na ginanap sa Beverly Hilton Hotel, Beverly Hills, California, noong Linggo, January 6 (Monday morning, January 7, Philippine time).
"Exciting!" ang sagot ni Ricky nang kumustahin ng Cabinet Files ang unang beses na pagdalo niya sa Golden Globe Awards.
Nagkaroon ito ng katuparan dahil sa imbitasyon ng kanyang mga kaibigan na sina Ruben at Janet Napoles, ang US-based Filipino entertainment journalists na mga miyembro ng Hollywood Foreign Press, ang organizer ng Golden Globe Awards.
Lahad ni Ricky, "I’m really thankful kay Ruben and Janet for inviting me.
"I was invited for Fox Viewing party during the awards ceremony and the After Party which was attended by all the winners.
"Exciting talaga! Hindi mo alam kung sino ang titingnan at kakausapin.
"Nakasabay ko sa limousine bus si Jon Voight [veteran actor na ama ni Angelina Jolie] at marami pa, kaya lang I didn’t know their names.
"Sobrang organized ng buong awards night. May limousine bus service for all the guests and, of course, very tight ang security."
Na-meet daw ni Ricky ang Fil-Am actor na si Darren Criss, na nanalong Best Actor in a Limited Series or TV movie para sa The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story.
Kasama raw ni Darren ang father at Filipina mother nito.
Ayon pa kay Ricky, "They were very gracious.
"Nakakataba ng puso ang acceptance speech niya [Darren], especially sa mga Pilipino.
"Great food and drinks overflowed.
"Willem Dafoe was very accommodating especially when I told him, I came from the Philippines.
"He did two films in the Philippines—Platoon [1986] and Born on the Fourth of July [1989].
"It was an experience, fan ka talaga!"
Nakilala rin nang personal ni Ricky ang former Miss Saigon actor na si Jon Briones, na gumanap na tatay ni Darren Criss sa The Assassination of Gianni Versace.
"Jon appeared as The Engineer in Miss Saigon and played the father of Andrew Cunanan in the Versace movie.
"He was also very nice at magaling magsalita ng Tagalog," sabi ni Ricky.
