Kinumpirma ng Department of Education na suspendido muna ang face-to-face (F2F) classes para sa mga pilot schools sa National Capital Region (NCR) hangga’t hindi ibinabalik ang alert status sa Level 2.
Sa inilabas na pahayag ng DepEd noong gabi ng January 2, 2022, sinabi nito na ang desisyong suspendihin ang mga klase ay nakabatay sa memorandum ng Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases para sa Alert Level 3 protocols.
Tumataas na naman kasi ang mga kaso ng COVID-19 sa NCR at muling isinailalim ang rehiyon sa Alert Level 3 status from January 3 to15.
Ayon sa DepEd, "Face-to-face classes in pilot schools in areas under Alert Levels 1 and 2 shall continue in the meantime that DepEd finalizes its report on the pilot face-to-face classes."
Nakipagpulong na rin ito sa mga mayor ng mga lungsod sa NCR kaugnay ng suspensyon ng face-to-face classes.
