Pahayag ni Butuan City Mayor Ronnie Vicente Lagnada, “This is a tremendous honor for the city.

"It showcases the constant strives we make each day to think bigger and bolder."

Bukod sa Butuan City, narito ang 14 pang siyudad mula sa ibang bansa ang nakapasok: Istanbul, Turkey; Freetown, Sierra Leone; Rourkela, India; Bogota, Colombia; Hermosillo, Mexico; Amman, Jordan; Vilnius, Lithuania; Wellington, New Zealand; Rotterdam, Netherlands, Rochester, Minnesota, USA; Phoenix, Arizona, USA; Paterson, New Jersey, USA; Kumasi, Ghana; Kigali, Rwanda

BUTUAN CITY MAKES THE CUT

Sabi noon ng founder na si Michael Bloomberg, "These 50 finalists are showing the world that in the face of the pandemic's enormous challenges, cities are rising to meet them with bold, innovative, and ambitious ideas."

The pandemic has heightened our sense of food and nutrition insecurity.

“We felt the urgency to accelerate our city's transformation from a net importer of vegetables to a net exporter."
