Posibleng ilabas na ngayong April 2022 ng Commission on Elections (COMELEC) ang en banc ruling nito sa disqualification cases na isinampa laban kay presidential aspirant Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.
Ito ang inianunsyo ng COMELEC noong March 24.
Sinabi ni COMELEC Commissioner George Garcia na ang motions for reconsideration (MRs) na isinumite ng mga petitioners laban sa kandidatura ni BBM ay masusing nirerepaso na.
Ani Garcia, “The chairman [Saidamen Pangarungan] is committing before the end of April, a decision by the en banc will be forthcoming.
“A decision on the consolidated cases, as well as the case with motions for reconsideration will be decided before the elections… before the end of April.
“The earliest the second week of April, the latest will be the third week of April.”
Matatandaang nauna nang ibinasura ng COMELEC First and Second Divisions ang anim na disqualification cases laban kay BBM dahil sa "lack of merit".
Nagsumite naman ng kani-kanilang motion for reconsideration sa COMELEC en banc.
PAGTAKBO NI PANFILO LACSON BILANG INDEPENDENT
Samantala, sinabi ni Garcia na kahit nagbitiw si Senator Panfilo "Ping" Lacson sa kanyang political party na Partido Reporma, hindi ito puwedeng ituring na independent candidate sa darating na halalan sa May 9.
Paliwanag niya, "Whatever is your party at the time of the filing of the candidacy stays. Your CONA [Certificate of Nomination and Acceptance] stays.
“Whatever changes in your affiliation after the filing of the candidacy, it doesn't matter."
Noong March 24 ay inihayag ni Lacson ang kanyang pagbibitiw sa Partido Reporma matapos magdesisyon ang partido na suportahan ang kandidatura ni Vice President Leni Robredo.
Iniendorso ni Partido Reporma president at Davao del Norte Representative Pantaleon Alvarez si VP Leni dahil mas may tsansa umano itong manalo, at kahanay ng kanilang partido ang mga inilalatag nitong programa.
Inamin naman ni Alvarez na si Lacson ang “most qualified” na maging pangulo ng Pilipinas.
