BI Stops Using Paper Departure Cards

Pinalawak ng Bureau of Immigration ang eTravel system ng ahensya para mabawasan ang requirements ng mga papaalis na pasahero, at hindi na kailangang mag-fill out ng departure cards.

Inianunsiyo ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) noong March 31, 2023 na ihihinto na ang paggamit ng paper-based departure cards simula May 1, 2023.

Sa inilabas na opisyal na pahayag, sinabi ni BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco na pinalalawak nila ang eTravel system ng ahensiya para mabawasan ang requirements ng mga papaalis na pasahero.

Ang eTravel platform, na inisyal na inilunsad noong December 2022, ang kasalukuyang nag-i-standardize at nagko-consolidate ng proseso ng data collection ng mga dumarating at papaalis na pasahero.

Ayon kay Tansingco, "The eTravel platform will soon be used for both arriving and departing passengers.

"Travelers no longer have to fill out departure cards, and instead may log in the online portal prior to their flight.”

Ang system ay inisyatiba ng sub-technical working group ng IATF, at pinamumunuan ng BI.

Joint project ito with Department of Information and Communications Technology, Department of Tourism, Bureau of Quarantine, Bureau of Customs, Department of Health, Department of Transportation, Department of Justice at ng National Privacy Commission.

Sinabi ni eTravel Technical Working Group chairperson Dennis Javier na simula April 15, ang mga papaalis na pasahero ay maaaring mag-log in sa platform, “not later than 72 hours to not later than three [3] hours from the scheduled time of their flight.”

Pinalitan ng online portal ang paper-based departure card, na required ang mga pasahero na i-fill out bago ang departure.

“This is a major step in streamlining documents presented by departing travelers, allowing for faster and more efficient immigration processing,” ani Tansingco.
