How Is Carlos Yulo five months after his historic Paris 2024 Olympic feat?
Last night, January 27, 2025, Carlos was honored as the 2024 Athlete of the Year by the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA).
The prestigious award recognized his incredible performance and dedication to gymnastics, making the 24-year-old from Leveriza, Manila, a source of Pinoy pride.
He etched his name in history as the second Olympian to bring home a gold medal for the Philippines.
The 24-year-old gymnast also became the first Filipino and Southeast Asian athlete to achieve a rare double gold, dominating both the men's floor exercise and vault events at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Such an extraordinary achievement deserved nothing less than a grand celebration.
The PSA Awards Night, themed “Golden Year, Golden Centenary,” was the most spectacular edition ever organized, with Yulo as its shining star.
The event also brought together the country’s treasured Olympians, who were honored for their discipline, perseverance, and outstanding contributions to Philippine sports.

Carlos’s success on the gymnastics floor has translated into opportunities beyond the arena.
