What is the University of the Philippines Open University?
While it may seem that the UPOU is a recent program designed to keep up with the times post-pandemic, the truth is that it has been around since 1995.
The UPOU was established to support the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in their goal of providing distance learning opportunities to students.
Major advances in internet technology, along with the emergence of applications that support remote learning, have helped UPOU achieve its objectives and made it more appealing to learners who prefer online education for various reasons.
