DFA: Passport processing may take up to 15 days

Why the delay?

Applying for a Philippine passport? You may have to wait longer. The Department of Foreign Affairs announces that passport processing may take more than two weeks.

Ang dahilan: "logistical and supply chain issues.”

Ito ang abisong inilabas ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) ngayong Miyerkules, April 8, 2026.

Pagdedetalye pa ng ahensiya: “…passport applications filed beginning the last week of March 2026 may experience delays in release."

Gaano katagal ang delay?

Ayon pa rin sa DFA, mag-aantay ang applicant ng "10 to 15 working days from the date of application until further notice.”

Bago ang anunsiyong ito, karaniwang lima hanggang pitong working days ang tagal ng processing.

Kasalukuyang naghahanap ang ahensiya ng mga paraan para ma-resolve ang delay.

“The Department is closely working with the third-party service provider for the printing of the ePassports on resolving the current delays and ensuring that passport operations normalize as soon as possible.”

In the meantime, nag-provide ang DFA ng email addresses para sa mga emergency cases:
