Dini-discourage ng Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) ang Metro Manila moviegoers sa panonood ng pelikula sa mga sinehan kaugnay sa banta ng CoViD-19.

“For Metro Manila, moviegoers are strongly encouraged to avoid watching in the cinemas as this constitutes as a social gathering,” sabi sa memo na inilabas ni FDCP Chairperson and CEO Mary Liza B. Diño nitong Marso 13, Biyernes, bago maghating-gabi.

“Furthermore, theater operators are enjoined to support the public health emergency measure put in place by suspending screenings in Metro Manila for the duration of the Public Health Emergency.”

Pahayag sa memo, “As a preventive measure, all production shoots or tapings of films, TV programs or audio-visual contents in Metro Manila are highly discouraged as they constitute mass gatherings that are highly susceptible to transmission of the virus.”

To address the concerns of the audio-visual industry stakeholders and community, eto ang sinabi pa ng memo ni Liza Diño:

“We join the President in the efforts to mitigate the effects of the pandemic and we enjoin the industry to unite in these challenging times by adhering to the precautionary measures as specified by the government.

“While we understand the inevitable economic consequences of these measures, we must keep in mind that the public's safety is and will always be our top priority, and we implore everyone's cooperation and understanding.

“Stay safe, everyone!”

“In compliance.”

Samantala, we have yet to hear from GMA-7 and their teleseryes and other shows, and even TV5 and Cignal plus the other film outfits.

Muli, it’s about the hierarchy of values.
