Dr. Carl Balita: "If the Koreans are known for this, or Chinese are known for that, and the Indians are known for Bollywood, maybe the Philippines should be known for something else. Ecological film? Educational film? I don’t know. But we have to reinvent ourselves."

Sa halip na maghanap ng trabaho, maghanap ng hanapbuhay, because these are two different things.

“Paano namin gagawin yun?

“We will get the ordinary stories by the street.

“I think it’s about time na buhayin natin ang micro-cinema as well. Small is the new big,” diin ni Dr. Carl.

“Sa cinema, kailangan ang creativity ninyo lumabas, just producing the film. Kailangang lumabas na maipakita ninyo na meron kang kayang gawin beyond producing or creating the film.

“If you’re in the province and there’s a mango tree behind you… What prevents you from doing the micro screening under the mango tree with people coming?

"Create a good projector and a good sound.

“We have to be entrepreneurial beyond the creativity of just creating the film.

“What if you have a small space to accommodate a hundred people to watch the film? And you have three showings a day, and six days in a week. And that place is converted into like a micro-cinema.

“Maybe we’re not talking sa SM. Maybe you’re talking of your own little theater. Because a small one is a new big,” dagdag niyang pahayag.

“Yung binanggit kong brand kanina. Si Max’s, anong ginawa ni Max’s? Pansinin ninyo. Di ba, biniyak-biyak niya yung brand?

“Merong Pancake House sa kabilang side, may Krispy Kreme sa kabila. 'Tapos, may Max’s sa kabilang side, may Dencio’s sa kabilang side.

“Isang Max’s, dinivide niya into four.

“Micro-cinema po is the solution. There should be more micro-cinemas. Why? You will feel safer. And it will be easier to film and create a transition. Maybe this is the age of micro-cinema.”

“It’s about time that the industry will have to reinvent itself. And by the way, ako, nakikita ko ang potential ng movie industry ng Philippines is on the educational side,” saad ni Dr. Carl.

“Magaling ang Pilipino sa English, sa language. Pangalawa, ang buong mundo, naghahanap ng educational materials now.

“If we can come up with some educational films, you’ll be surprised, baka tayo ang magiging Bollywood ng Philippines.

“If the Koreans are known for this, or Chinese are known for that, and the Indians are known for Bollywood, maybe the Philippines should be known for something else.

“Ecological film? Educational film? I don’t know. But we have to reinvent ourselves.

"We cannot have second-rate Bollywood or second-rate Korean, or a second-rate Japanese horror or a second-rate-trying-American film in action, and etcetera in Hollywood. Maybe we have to find a niche. Yun ang galing ng entrepreneur.”

But aside from business, hindi kaya magandang kontribusyon kung gusto talagang maging educational at magagamit sa schools ay ang totoong HISTORY based on facts at hindi fake news o campaign propoganda at trolls?
