Feeling lucky si Donnalyn sa FB post niya, “Bakit may sad dahil back to work na?
Dapat grateful kasi may work. If work makes you unhappy, I hope you find a job that will. Yung pakikiligin ka and sheet.
“Anyway, this is just a reminder that having a job is a blessing bessss change mindset, it’s 2023!!”

Dahil diyan, marami ang nagtaguri sa kanya bilang "Queen of Toxic Positivity."
Bumaha naman sa Twitter ang invocation, “Saint Donnalyn Bartolome, Patron Saint of Toxic Positivity & Insensitivity. Pray for us.”
And that's the reality.”
Wag na natin gamitin yung minimum wage issue, may ancestors ako na mababa pa noon sa minimum but that didn’t stop them.
“Hindi reason yun to be unappreciative for having work. Nagsumikap sila to have a better life. Napagtapos niya mga anak niyang apat sa trabaho niya as Janitor.
“Double double man trabaho na tinanggap nila at ganun din ginawa ko nung walang wala talaga.. hindi parin reason yun para maging ungrateful for having work. Pag masipag ka, maparaan, madiskarte.. life will turn around for you.
“Disclaimer: Hindi ko dinedisregard yung minimum wage issue, I pray it improves for people in the situation.

Parang OFW situation. Minsanan ko lang sila nakikita.. umaabot years and years.

Ang nasabing emoji ay very positive and warm.
Bawal tamarin. Dahil madaming bayarin.”
Ang sagot dito ni Donnalyn ay tatlong Roll on Floor Laughing (ROFL) emoji — smiling face crying tears of joy while leaning to one side, as if rolling over with uncontrollable laughter.

Tweet ni Donnalyn: “How to feel better: Be sad. It is important to be sad. Don’t pretend that everything is okay. Allow ypurself to express your feelings ~ not bottle it up.
“It’s a healthy and normal reaction when something is wrong. It won’t make it right but it will help you move on.”

NOEL FERRER
I had to backread the various reactions to Donnalyn’s post. It may have been well intentioned and well meaning, pero medyo na-expose din ang kanyang medyo simplistic view sa mga bagay-bagay.
Ang sabi niya, “To do something you enjoy and get paid for it is a blessing. Some are not blessed this way despite the fact that they try so hard to find work they enjoy.
“They are blessed differently naman. A good wife? Beautiful kids? Good health? Just my 2 centavos. Back to you guys”

Lesson learned ito sa mga magpo-post sa social media out of any reason — yung basta makapag-post lang, magpa-cute o mag-make ng point, “Isip-isip lang.”
GORGY RULA
Noong Disyembre 25, ang Facebook post ni Donnalyn, “How I’m spending Christmas Day. My brother has been suffering with his mental health for years and I’m so grateful you are still here with me.
“Thank you for fighting, I love you so much. Remember when I told you ‘I want you to know I remember why I became a hardworker, it was because you were the smartest one and as the eldest, I had to keep up. I was afraid you wouldn't look up to me so you must know and everyone should too, that I wouldn't be anywhere near where I am if you weren't there for me to look up to so I can be someone you looked up to.’
“So please don’t give up Jay, you are my Christmas!! God please shield him from anything that hurts him.
“To everyone who has loved ones suffering mentally, hold them close, be patient with them, it hurts sometimes but nothing hurts more than losing them.
“I’m not letting you go, Jay! It’s me and you forever! My Christmas is a merry one because you’re with me.”
