Super proud si Elijah Canlas sa mga papuring natanggap ng girlfriend niyang si Miles Ocampo kaugnay sa paglabas nito sa pilot episode ng FPJ’s Batang Quiapo.
“She deserves it!” bulalas ni Elijah.
Nakapanayam si Elijah sa mediacon noong Pebrero 28, Martes, sa Privato Hotel, Sct. Castor St., Brgy. Laging Handa, Quezon City.
“I mean, tawag ko nga sa kanya, veterans na yun, e. Bata pa lang yun, umaarte na yun, e.
"Kaya she knows this industry inside and out. I take lessons from her. And may natututunan po ako lagi sa kanya. And I hope it was the same way.
"And when she went trending for Batang Quiapo, and her hosting stint din sa Eat Bulaga you know, yung nag-Bida Ex siya.
"And every time she goes trending, she gets recognized for her talent, I couldn’t be anymore prouder talaga. Sobra.
"Every day, every night I see her working. I see her stressed from whatever issue that there is.
"And to see her overcome all of it and gain success… as a partner, I couldn’t be anymore prouder po talaga."
Para sa iba, distraction sa career ang magkasyota.
Pero sila ni Miles, mukhang mas nai-inspire silang magtrabaho dahil sa isa’t isa.
Pag-ayon ni Elijah, "Definitely. Kasi we may have different goals, but we’re both in the same industry and we both love what we do so much.
"We’re both very passionate, me and Miles. And supportive of each other, na lahat po ng ginagawa namin, nagtutulungan talaga kami.
"Lahat ng projects ko, kunwari About Us But Not About Us, siya ang nagturo sa akin mag-memorize nun. Siya ang ka-throw lines ko.
"Siya ang nagtuturo sa akin mag-memorize, nagtuturo sa akin mag-notes when I did LiveScream.
"Tapos same with her when she did Batang Quiapo. Everything she does, ahh nagpapatulong siya talaga. We’re passionate that way and we inspire each other a lot.”
Puwede bang masabi na siya ang lucky charm ni Miles?
"I won’t go as far as saying that. Kasi, she’s a hard worker, you know. Sabi ko nga po, veterans na nga si Miles,” pagpapakumbaba ni Elijah.
"Bata pa lang po siya, she’s working so hard, and she’s like me, you know. She goes to U.P. And she’s trying to learn everything that she can. She’s very passionate.
"So, I don’t want to take any of that credit because she’s an amazing artist herself. And I’m just lucky and blessed to be part of her journey."
Magaling nga si Miles pero ngayon lang talaga nare-recognize ang kahusayan niya.
"Siguro po kasi, mas nagbabatuhan kami ngayon. Siguro dati wala siyang kabatuhan sa mga preparation niya in terms of sa mga project niya," sabi ni Elijah.
"Pero ngayon po, lahat ng projects na ginagawa namin, we read it. Honestly.
"Binabasa po namin yung script ng isa’t isa, and kapag may mga ideas kami, we bounce it off each other…
"May ganun po kaming type of relationship."
Ang pelikulang About Us But Not About Us ay isa sa walong official entries ng 1st Summer MMFF (Abril 11-18, 2023).

Mapangahas si Elijah sa Vivamax Plus film na LiveScream kung saan may butt exposure siya at harutan scene with Katrina Dovey.
May pinagpapaalaman pa ba siya pag tumanggap siya ng ganoong project?
"Opo. Sa pamilya ko saka sa dyowa ko siyempre. Ha! Ha! Ha!" natatawang tugon ni Elijah.
"Pero sa management po una. Kapag OK po yung management, mas madali nang ma-convince yung parents ko, si Miles, and everyone else.
"So it always starts with management"
Paano kung si Miles ang may offer na ganung project, iyung may sexy scenes?
"Kung tama po yung project, yeah. Ako pa nga po ang nagpu-push sa kanyang mag-kissing scene, e.
"Kasi bago naging kami, never pa po siyang nag-kissing scene. Very conservative siya.
"Dati nagka-work kami. May kissing scene kami, ayaw niya. Dahil never pa nga po siya nagka-kissing scene.
"So nung naging kami na, may karapatan na akong sabihin na… 'Hey, oras na! Oras na para i-explore mo ang side na ito. You have to be braver with your choices and everything.'
"And she has. May mga project po siya na nagawa na hindi pa naipapalabas, but excited ako."
Ngayong nasa bagong management na si Elijah dahil magpo-focus na ang The IdeaFirst Company sa pagpo-produce ng content.
I am confident na maaalagaan naman siya ng mga kaibigan natin sa Cornerstone. All the best, Elijah!

Baligtad ng gusto sina Elijah at Miles, kaya raw natawa ang young actress.
"Siya naman, ayaw niyang mag-kissing scene ako," lahad ni Elijah.
Napanood ni Miles ang jacuzzi scene nina Elijah at Katrina sa LiveScream.
Pahayag ni Elijah, “Nung time na yun, wala na siyang magagawa, e. Ha! Ha! Ha! So ang masasabi na lang niya noon, ‘Congratulations!’
"Pero honestly, I felt like she was really sincere when she said na she’s proud of me.
"Na-late siya nung screening nun, pero katabi ko po siya and bumubulung-bulong siya na super proud siya sa akin dahil alam niya ang pinagdaanan ko with that project.
"Pero I remember preparing for LiveScream, very hesitant talaga siya na, ‘Kailangan ba talaga? Kailangan ba talaga?’
"It makes sense. Kasi ganun naman po talaga, e, pag partner niyo, di ba? I mean, very possessive sometimes, and sometimes may ganun din ako.
"But at the end of the day, we will support each other."
Iyong rape scene ni Miles sa FPJ’s Batang Quiapo, ipinagpaalam sa kanya? Napangiti si Elijah, "Alam ko na po yun. Nabasa ko po ang script nun, e.
"Because we help each other nga prepare for it. Natulungan ko rin po siyang mag-prepare for that.
"Natawa ako nung una, pero sabi ko, ‘Game!’ Sabi ko, ‘It sounds like a powerful scene, and ikaw ang makakagawa nang tama niyan. Tama na ikaw ang kinast diyan.'
"And excited akong makita anuman ang gagawin niya, and she did amazing. Saktung-sakto po."
