Masaya at maluwalhating nairaos ang unang araw ng kauna-unahang Manila International Film Festival (MIFF) 2024 nitong Enero 29, Lunes, sa pamamagitan ng presscon with the foreign press.
Napakaraming tanong tungkol sa iba’t ibang Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) films na ngayon ay nasa Hollywood na!
Siyempre, bumangka sa presscon ang mga artistang sina Eugene Domingo, John Arcilla, Piolo Pascual, Enchong Dee, Christian Bables, Beauty Gonzalez, Janella Salvador, Ysabel Ortega, at Ron Angeles.

Dumating na rin ang grupo nina Dingdong Dantes ng Rewind na sumabak na agad sa press interviews at Talk Back session sa fullhouse audience ng kanyang pelikula.

Kasunod nito ang Talk Back session din ng pelikulang Mallari na punuan din ang sinehan. Monday night naganap ang Opening Reception sa Yamashiro Japanese Resto.
Doon namataan natin ang ilang kaibigan sa industriya like Quark Henares at Giselle Tongi.

Enero 30, Martes ng gabi, sa Amerika ang screening ng Kampon at isasalang sa Talk Back ang lead actress ng naturang pelikula na si Beauty Gonzalez, kasama ang producer na si Atty. Joji Alonso.
Parating na rin si Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes para kasama rin ni Ysabel Ortega sa Talk Back ng entry nilang Firefly.
Mabuti at naayos naman ang visa ni Cedrick Juan para sa pelikula nilang GomBurZa, at sa Pebrero 1 ay si Alden Richards ang darating para sa pelikulang Family of Two (A Mother and Son Story).
Marami nga raw ang dumalo, sabi ng ilang napagtanungan namin, at na-enjoy ng mga artistang dumalo ang Talk Back pagkatapos ng screening.
Isa na nga rito si Dingdong Dantes na nag-post sa kanyang Instagram account.
Aniya, “Honored to have opened out film, ‘Rewind,’ at the first-ever Manila International Film Festival in Hollywood. I commend the efforts of the MMFF. MMDA, and the entire industry for showcasing 10 beautiful films on the international stage.

Dagdag na tuwa pa sa mag-asawang Dingdong at Marian dahil naka-PHP902M na ang kinita ng Rewind, na ito ang kauna-unahang Pinoy film na umabot ng P900M ang kinita.

Ang awards night ng unang MIFF ay nakatakda sa Pebrero 2, Biyernes, sa gusali ng Directors Guild of America sa Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles, California.
Siyam ang kategorya rito — Best Picture, Special Jury Prize, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Screenplay, at Best Cinematography.
Walang award para sa best child performer, best editing, best visual effects, best production design, best theme song, best musical score, at best sound.
Ang chair ng jury ay si Marie Jamora. Members ng jury sina Mari Acevedo, Leah Anova, Regie Lee, David Maquiling at Sumalee Montano.
Ang L.A.-based founders ng MIFF ay sina Omen Ortiz, chairman; Ebradu Udarbe, president; Lisa Lew, executive producer; Ruben Nepales and Janet Nepales, media relations consultants; at Celia Abaya Dy, ticketing manager.
