Ang asawa na ni Lovi Poe na si Monty Blencowe ang pupunta muna rito sa Pilipinas para magkasama silang dalawa.
“He’s gonna come here,” sabi sa amin ni Lovi nang nakatsikahan namin sa story conference ng pelikulang Guilty Pleasure na sisimulan niya sa Regal Entertainment.
Madalas ay si Lovi ang pumupunta sa Amerika para makasama si Monty at meron naman siyang showbiz career sa Hollywood.
“May mga times lang talaga na ako yung lilipad dun. Because, well, I can’t say I’m based like in between, yung tipong ganun, because work is also here, work is also there,” dagdag niyang pahayag.
Bukod sa Guilty Pleasure, isusunod niya ang isa pang pelikulang action-drama sa Regal, ang The Untamed na ididirek ni Richard Somes.
Paghahandaan pa raw niya iyon physically dahil sa mga matitinding action scenes.
Pero ito namang Guilty Pleasure ay kakaiba sa kanya kung saan gaganap siya bilang isang abogado. Makakasama niya rito sina JM de Guzman at Jameson Blake.
Isinulat nina Noreen Capili at Trisha Mae Delez ang script at ididirek ni Connie Macatuno na nakatrabaho na niya noon sa Malaya kasama si Zanjoe Marudo.
Meron pang isang magandang project na inalok kay Lovi, at ibang-iba rin daw ito.
“Meron din akong gagawin na project after. Sobrang excited ako because it’s something na iba siya.
“But ito, Guilty Pleasure is also nakakaiba. I’m actually very nervous about it e,” sambit ng 35-anyos na aktres.
Para kay Lovi, halos pareho lang ang effort na ibinibigay niya sa mga pelikulang ginagawa niya rito at sa Hollywood.
“Ako talaga, I just wanted to give the same effort that I gave. You know what I mean?
“It doesn’t vary because it’s here in the Philippines versus in the US, kung ano yung mas bibigyan ko ng importansya.
“Work is work. I will give it the same love, the same effort and yun! It’s equal to me.
“Siyempre, parang that one is a different venture that for me is brand new. It’s new phases, new experience. It’s just something that I’m gonna enjoy as much as I enjoy filming here,” saad ni Lovi.
NOEL FERRER:
Tatlong pelikula na ang nagawa ni Lovi sa Hollywood, pero parang nahihiya pa siyang tawaging Hollywood actress.
Siyempre, ibang experience daw kapag nakikita siyang rumarampa sa red carpet ng mga events doon sa Hollywood, pero mas gusto raw niyang makilala bilang isang aktres doon sa America.
Pahayag ni Lovi, “More of an actress, because it’s like being on set with my co-actors dun.
“It’s just super fun, and sobrang ganda lang ng experience nung nag-film ako dun.
“But for me, I love of being on set. Iyon talaga yung favorite ko. But of course, those sweet little things are nice.
“But, ang sarap lang kasi I love acting. So, being on set is really nice.
“Iba-iba kasi talaga bawat production, and bawat director what they ask you to do. What they ask from their actors.
“So, it’s not really the difference between how it is here in the Philippines and how it is in America.
“So, parang it varies because of the team. So, it’s basically the same. But… yeah there’s no other way… it’s just working with different people and learning from different people,” dagdag ni Lovi.
JERRY OLEA:
Nagpapasalamat si Lovi dahil very supportive ang kanyang asawa.
Hindi naman daw niya kailangang ipagpapaalam pa ang mga projects na tinatanggap niya, pero pinag-uusapan daw nila ito, at suportado raw ng asawa niya kung ano ang napagdesisyunan niya sa kanyang career.
Lahad ni Lovi, “It’s not like I ask permission. Nothing’s changed. I’m still the same…alam naman niya yung work ko.
“And there’s no need of approval, he respects my job. And yun, he’s very excited for me to do this project kasi it’s been awhile.
“And we got to spend some time together during Christmas. So sabi ko, okay, it’s time to go back to work.
“Marami kaming mga… we kinda share the same interest, and then yun he loves hearing what I do, and ako din, gustung-gusto ko naririnig kung ano yung nangyari sa kanya about work.
“Of course, he’s also part of the industry, but also he’s a scientist. So, magkaiba din yung world namin.
“So, when I hear about his work stuff, na-excite ako and siya din pag naririnig niya what I’m doing.”
Adjusted na ba siya sa role niya bilang asawa ni Monty Blencowe, at artista dito sa Pilipinas at sa America?
“I have a supportive husband who pushes me to do what I love, and yun who’s excited for me.
“It’s a lot of work kasi, parang may… ang hirap mag-switch on bigla and mag-switch off. But then, that’s part of the job and I enjoy it so much. So, I’m not complaining at all.
“Kumbaga, I wouldn’t have it any other way,” tugon ni Lovi.
