Iyan ang paratang ng concerned citizens na nakapanood ng trailer ng pelikulang pinagbibidahan ni Paolo Contis at ng child actress na si Sienna Stevens.

MAVX OPEN LETTER
Kaugnay rito, naglabas ang producer na Mavx sa Facebook ng open letter para sa kanilang valued audience ngayong Biyernes ng umaga, Agosto 23, 2024.
Ang nilalaman ng liham: “Dear Esteemed Viewers,
“We hope this message finds you in good spirits. We are reaching out to address some concerns that have been brought to our attention regarding our recent film, ‘DEAR SATAN.’
“First and foremost, we want to extend our deepest apologies if the title of our movie has caused any offense or discomfort. It was never our intention to hurt or disrespect anyone's religious beliefs. Our aim has always been to create content that entertains while conveying meaningful messages.
“The concept behind ‘DEAR SATAN’ was conceived with the goal of exploring the theme of good versus evil, showcasing how an innocent child, guided by faith and the goodness of the Lord, can resist temptation and embody the virtues of righteousness.
“The film is a narrative about the power of faith and the triumph of good over evil. We wanted to illustrate that, despite the presence of evil in the world, faith and virtue can prevail.
“We understand and respect the concerns raised by our audience. In response, we have decided to change the title of the movie to better reflect its intended message and to honor the sensitivities of all our viewers.
“We believe this change will help align the film more closely with its moral core and ensure that it resonates positively with our audience.

TITLE CHANGE
Hindi na bago ang pagrereklamo at pagpapalit sa movie titles.
Iyong Marupok AF ni Maris Racal na nag-showing sa local cinemas noong Hulyo 10, 2024 ay ginawang Marupok A+.

Iyong movie nina Ricky Davao at Jasmine Curtis-Smith na Never Tear Us Apart (2018) ay Fisting talaga ang naghuhumiyaw na title, at subtitle lang iyong Never Tear Us Apart.
Ang classic film ni National Artist Ishmael Bernal na Manila By Night (1980) ay ginawang City After Dark nang ipalabas noon sa mga sinehan. Pero ngayon ay mas kilala iyon bilang Manila By Night.
Matatandaan na merong Pinoy movies na Omeng Satanasia (1977) si Dolphy, at Lumaban Ka, Satanas (1983) starring Ramon Revilla Sr.
Take note na may “omen” pa sa titulong Omeng Satanasia, at ang English title naman ng Lumaban Ka, Satanas ay The Killing of Satan.

Nakikita naman sa trailer ng Dear Satan kung ano ang kuwento, pero ang dami pa ring kumokontra dahil sa title nito.
Tingnan natin next week kung ano ang magiging desisyon ng MTRCB, dahil nakatakda pa lang pala itong i-review.
Ayaw rin munang mag-comment ni Paolo Contis. Mas mabuting panoorin daw muna bago husgahan, dahil lang sa title ng pelikula.
Nagpahinga lang yata sandali ang bashers ni Paolo Contis, at ngayon ay gising na gising na naman sila dahil sa kapansin-pansin ang title nitong bago niyang pelikula.
Pero kung hindi kay Paolo Contis ang pelikulang ito, ganoon pa rin kaya ang reaksiyon nila?
Sinasabi nga ng ilan na “deceitful” at “misleading” daw ang title ng pelikulang ito.
Alin kaya ang mas “misleading” sa ilang pelikula ng Vivamax na merong titles na Unang Tikim, Kalikot, Package Deal, Paluwagan, Salsa ni L, among many others?
Bakit kaya itong mga kumokontra sa Dear Satan ay tahimik lang at hinahayaan ang Vivamax movies?

Parang sa ingay na nalikha ng title, nagawa na nito ang gusto niyang makamit, ang mapag-usapan at mapukaw ang ating interes sa pelikula.
Kaya ngayon, sana nag-shift na ang focus ng diskurso tungo sa tunay na mensahe ng pelikula.
Mabubuting tao naman ang gumagawa nitong pelikulang iyo kaya maniniwala ako sa kanilang magandang intensyon!!!
