CONTINUING THE REGAL LEGACY
Ang magpapatuloy ng Regal legacy ay ang unang apo nina Mother Lily at Father Remy, ang anak ni Roselle Monteverde na si Keith Monteverde.
Iniwan ni Keith ang pagiging licensed lawyer sa California, USA, upang pamahalaan ang Regal Entertainment sa Pilipinas.
Credited bilang executive producers ng Cinemalaya 2024 entry na Love Child sina Mother Lily, Roselle, at Keith.
“My lola taught me two things. One, she taught me how to be good in business,” pahayag ni Keith nang makachikahan ng PEP Troika sa lamay ni Mother Lily noong Agosto 8 sa Valencia Events Place, Quezon City.
“And then, two, she taught me how to be a good family man. In America, I had a very successful career. I was able to build a couple of businesses that ended up doing really well.
“Pero parang may kulang sa America just being there by myself. And so for me, personally, parang it just felt like it was the right time for me to come back home and help the family.”
Tapos, lumaganap ang pandemya.
Tumango si Keith, “The pandemic was also very hard. I was fortunate to have a daughter during the pandemic, but she could only see her great-lola through video chat.
“So that also includes my decision to come back.”

MOTHER LILY'S FIRST GREAT GRANDDAUGHTER
Ang four-year old daughter ni Keith na si Mikayla ang nag-iisang apo sa tuhod so far nina Mother Lily at Father Remy.
Taong 2021 nang bumalik si Keith sa Pilipinas kasama ang anak na si Mikayla, na nagdulot ng saya sa great-grandparens nito.
“They bonded, like at first sight. Kasi yung daughter ko has so many mannerisms like my lola,” sambit ni Keith.
“She’s very makulit, outgoing. She loves to sing. She loves to dance. So, when my lola and lolo met her, it was just very natural. They were very close right away.
“I mean, the short time they spent together, my daughter would play the piano with my lola.”
Ano ang pinakamaganda niyang memories sa kanyang lolo at lola?
“Me? I was very lucky to grow up with my lola, lolo. So my best memories were always with Regal,” pagtatapat ni Keith.
“I was always following my lola around.”

Noong ikasal si Keith kay Winni Wang noong Nobyembre 2015 sa Shangri-La Boracay ay maraming taga-showbiz ang imbitado.
“Yeah, kasi a lot of them remember me from I was still a baby,” pakli ni Keith.
Palaging naikukuwento noon ni Mother Lily na binabantayan at sinusundan niya si Father Remy. Kasi nga, basketbolista ito noon, makisig, habulin ng mga babae.
Madali bang natanggap ng kanilang pamilya na hanggang kamatayan, sumunod agad si Mother Lily kay Father Remy?
Napangiti si Keith, “Yeah, actually yun nga ang joke namin. Like, you know, my lolo passed away, but not even a week, sumunod agad ang lola.
“And that’s really been the story of their life. And I’m just happy that they’re both together now.”

Ano ang mae-expect ng mga manonood sa Regal Entertainment ngayong ipinasa na sa bagong henerasyon ang pamamalakad dito?
“Regal will still continue to make movies, try to make audience feel emotions, whether it’s laughter, tears, or especially, our specialty, horror,” lahad ni Keith Monteverde.
“I think you can expect more of those types of stories from us that people can relate to.”
Isiniwalat ni Keith na ang youngest cousin niyang si Tenten, na anak ni Dondon Monteverde, ay nag-aaral magdirek.
“She’s the one who’s really focused on storytelling and visual style,” sabi pa ni Keith.
Na-post ni Direk Jose Javier Reyes sa Facebook noong Agosto 27 ang last shooting day ng Regal horror film na Paramdam, kung saan bida sina Jane Oineza at RK Bagatsing.
Nitong Setyembre 15, Linggo ng gabi, nag-post si Roselle Monteverde sa Facebook na coming soon sa mga sinehan ang most-twisted horror event ng 2024, ang pelikulang Untold ni Jodi Sta. Maria.
At nagpaabot din ng personal na imbitasyon si Roselle para sa nalalapit na Regal Legacy event.
At ang sabi ko talaga sa kanya, “See you, Roselle!!! Congratulations and Thank you for your great service to the entertainment industry!!!”

GORGY RULA
Kagagaling lang namin sa set ng pelikulang Caretakers ng Rein Entertainment na pinagbibidahan nina Iza Calzado at Dimples Romana.
Co-producer dito ang Regal Entertainment.
Ikinuwento ni Direk Lino Cayetano na buhay pa si Mother Lily nang ipinitch nila ang project na ito sa Regal.
“Kasama pa si Mother nung pinresent namin kay Roselle yung project. Nagustuhan naman agad ni Mother,” pakli ni Direk Lino.
Natuwa si Direk Lino dahil sa mga huling sandali ni Mother Lily ay nakausap pa raw niya ito, at kasama pa nang binuo nila ang film project na ito na dinirek ni Shugo Praico.
Isipin mo nga naman, kahit noong may sakit pa si Mother Lily ay ang Regal Entertainment pa rin talaga ang nasa isip niya.
At hindi ko maisip na naipasa pa niya ito sa kanyang apong si Keith Monteverde.
